yeah its a nice scavenger hunt to find them but atleast show in which region you need to search still. i'm at 139/140 i remember finding all of them and i thought i done them all. (5 of them i dont remember well so i have to now spend ages at each one sinds they won't always or quickly pop up. x.x)

Exactly the same here, #8 did the job! Finally 100% content clear. I had almost given up hope ... thank you so much for the video! Those butterflies really only show up when you are very close to them, if they are "bug-fixed" ... I certainly flew past the area before, but I didn't check the EXACT spot until I found your video and followed it through. 😙

I was afraid to be part of the people who are stuck at 1 missing collectibles. For me : I wanted to triple check the butterflies again. Then I simply went back to the forbidden forest. The first spot shown in the vid, the place where you follow your first batch of butterflies during this side quest. And luckily, they were here again for me. Completed the first spot and got the one that I was missing.

Hey everyone, I was stuck at 139/140 for hours.. almost gave up. The last butterfly chest I needed was #15. I went to the location multiple times and didn’t see it. However, after 4-5 times double checking, it appeared. If you’re having the same issue, try fast traveling near the locations and checking multiple times. Also waiting for day and night might be another workaround. Hopefully this helps some of you.

Thanks for that! I was going crazy thinking my save was bugged because there was 1 chest missing in this region (I read about the bug on the butterfly quest and despite having 100% sure I did it right I thought for some reason it bugged). Turns out it was the last chest inside the Gilded Perch. Now I just have to finish the main and side quests for the last outfits and be done with the Collector's Edition Trophy.

They fixed the missing butterfly issue with this new patch!! I had missed the first one in the entrance to the forbidden forest because I started the quest and then found a different one. But with this new update it is there for me to collect and get my platinum!

I have followed this guide multiple times AND I already have the vivarium and puzzle room chests. Along with every collection chest on the map. Like, what else am I supposed to do now??? I’m honestly done with this game. All the devs had to do was TRACK the butterflies and this headache could have been avoided. Amateurs.

@@simpleplanfan011 I'm pretty sure some butterfly is glitched. An error in the game was not having the option to mark the butterflies in the book to follow the progress, I have seven game saves, all of them are missing one, in another 3 there are five left, I swept the whole map, all the butterflies... collector's trophy for my platinum, but this bug certainly won't let me. Hopefully next updates will fix this, meanwhile I'm playing Horizon forbbiden West!

Solved the 139/140 conjurations problem! I guess it might work only for people with a physical copy of the game. step one: uninstall the game step two: disconnect your console from the internet so the game doesn't automatically update step three: install it again and load your latest save, when you check the map look for settlements where the chest counter was reset step four: since loot from the chests is random, you should get the missing piece from one of the chests, don't worry if you check one and it is empty, try another one - once you get it save the game and quit step five: connect your console to the internet, download the patch, launch the game and reload your save from step four step six: the trophy should pop lmk if it worked

Thank you, thank you and thrice thank you. After a near aneurysm caused by these fucking collectibles I finally found three missing moths and thus the Platinum is finally mine. But damn, that collecting malarkey is easily amongst the most laborious I think I’ve ever played and coupled with the frankly ridiculous 95 Merlin trials put a real dampener on the endgame cleanup for me. It also sadly highlighted the fact that as you explore further from Hogwarts and Hogsmeade the ‘open world’ really begins to show its limitations with repetition quickly settling in. Yes, I did enjoy the game and, especially in and around Hogwarts, think it’s a meticulously crafted joy to behold but boy, that collector trophy was so utterly repugnant as to make me wish I was back in Velen, Novigrad and Skellige surrounded by hundreds upon hundreds of question marks! Oh, and in case anyone reading this has encountered the same I can safely say not all non-Revelio field guide pages are required for the trophy so if you, like me, have encountered that annoying bugged moth down in the Slytherin dungeons then just shrug it off and try some moth hunting. Phew, now onto pastures new …

I was missing 3: #3, #7, and #10. It's alsoworth noting that my unlocksdid not match the guide. So searching for the High Archway won't lead you to the exact sopt you need. It appears that the butterfly locations unlock a certain portion of the list, but are not tied directly to an exact unlock. Great guide! Thanks for uploading!

Honestly, you should have put more about the first one. It doesn't show up on the map, and you can do the quest by getting other butterflies. I didn't even realize you had it in here the first 3 times I went through the video. Got it now tho.

For some reason 12 (feldcroft) the butterflies don’t show up when I go there. Idk if I already got it when doing story but I only have I conjuration left and is frustrating ( I already checked all vivarums and every chest in the map as well.

Reposting my comment here in case it helps: I’m convinced at this point that I simply have to wait for a patch or bug fix. I’ve done all the Vivariums (double checked them at least 5 times too) and I’ve gone through the butterfly path numerous times to no avail. I’ve gone through the whole list and I have every single conjuration, but for some reason there is still a blank spot for one, I’ve cross referenced with 3 different lists and I can confirm that I definitely have every conjuration. I don’t know when or how this blank spot appeared on my list but it’s there and now I’m stuck, seriously considering doing another run through at this point. If anyone has any suggestions let me know Edit: after going through the list yet again I can confirm that I’m missing the “High Archway” conjuration, will keep updating as I progress Edit 2: After going through everything again with no luck I’ve decided to take a different approach. Since the progress on the achievement has remained at 99% (despite starting three other saves for the other achievements) I hypothesize that the achievement itself can catalog how many I actually have. With this in mind I’ve come up with a plan to collect the missing conjuration on a separate save and see if it registers with the achievement. Edit 3: Since starting this plan I’ve noticed that certain collection chests drop certain item types depending on what they look like. For example the narrow cylinder like chests will always drop a wand handle, and the pointed chests in the camps will always drop a perk. With this in mind I figured out that I can only get the conjuration I’m looking for via the butterfly chests, the vivarium chests, or the ones behind most locked doors (the pyramid shaped ones). At this point I’ve saved right at a butterfly chest and have collected it and I am reloading until I eventually get the item I’m looking for. Will update if this works or not when I eventually get said item. Edit 4: I was able to acquire my missing item on another save, unfortunately the achievement didn’t pop, so this means that the achievement will only pop when earning the entire collection on one singular save. This gives us two options: simply wait and hope for an eventual patch, or go through the entire 50 hour process once again and PAY EXTRA ATTENTION to every time you open a collection chest and if it seems fishy immediately reload to a previous save. Also for those wondering I was missing “High Archway” and I reacquired on a different save via a butterfly chest (the one closest to “BROCBURROW” under the railway.

I think this can get bugged if you complete different clump of butterflies than what the quest points to, as the ones in the quest then do not spawn (I ran across the ones in north valley first when looking around San Bakar's tower)

@Sam james You can edit your save game to reset the quest, making the butterflies at edge of Forbidden Forest respawn. Check over at Nexus Mods. You can check what exactly are you missing using Legilimens tool (also at Nexus)

I'm missing number 12, but whenever I go to it, I follow the butterflies, open the chest, and it doesn't give me credit for anything.... Does anyone know how to fix this? My lower Feldcroft butterfly (#12) got bugged. I saw it once while travelling then chose to ignore it while doing other objectives but when I come back to that exact spot, the butterfly is now gone and even after restarting the save file, it's still not there.

are the Rewards allways the same in each chest? if so i think my safe is bugged.. i remember doing all of them, they don't show up anymore. BUT the Crest is the only item i am missing. Answer: no the rewards are random. Also the 12 collectibles in the Vivariums V, Check. so it HAS to be one of them yet i can also confirm i did all of them x.x I checked the Nexus, turns out i may have accidentally done a different butterfly on the 1st quest which locks you out of the 1st one. Luckily a guy had found a way to reset the quest so you can actually gather it whilst the quest is reactivated. (its tedious and annoying if you never used SQLiteStudio before but it worked) Fin

I have no idea if I have all of them, I checked all these areas and it seems like there's no butterflies so you would think I have them but I'm missing 137/140 Conjurations. The three missing are in the "Exploration" section, or maybe the butterflies are locked behind certain times of the day, if so, that's stupid. How are you able to zoom in so deeply on the map? I can zoom in but not that intense and I can never see the butterflies when I pull up the map.

Is #8 bugged for anyone else? I followed the butterflies and opened the chest, but nothing happened. The typical "reveal" sound was not played when I opened the chest, and the icon showing the chest contents did not pop up. I double-checked my collections in the main menu and nothing was added. Going to reload my manual save and try it again later, as I don't want this to throw off my ability to get the platinum.

12 is missing for me on PS4. I have marked all the ones I found on a map. And there is no open chest at the destination so I know I have not collected butterfly 12. But there is nothing there. Tried day and night and tried several times. Getting the collection trophy is SO difficult and time consuming.

Once you start chasing butterflies you have to find all of them or you will lose out of 1 Conjuration cause of the bug/glitch so be careful everyone 😊
