I think most of us have had teachers like professor Sharp and Ronen. Sharp’s style put a little stress and responsibility on you. Very effective way to learn. No behavioral issues were tolerated at all. But if you needed help he was was always there for you. And then you’d go to the Ronen-style teacher who would bring some smiles to their classroom, always have healthy snacks for those in need (some children may not have a nurturing home) and we’d learn a great deal there as well. Kinda nice to “relive” my school days in this game!

Yea and i literally had a teacher who was just about as worse (if not more) than book version snape.... Verbally and sometimes even physically abusive. And our ''headmaster'' pretty much chose to ignore it like Dumbledore.

It sure would've been nice to have teachers like that... Sadly what i got was a teacher who liked hitting on his male students instead lol

It’s interesting that looking into Sharp’s backstory, his office and his room in the Faculty Wing we find so much evidence of him trying to find a way to heal his bad leg…a quest to heal him using Ancient Magic would make so much sense, but there is none :(
@nocturnalcove97366 ай бұрын
I like to imagine his injury is basically a hairline crack in his leg. It won't heal without support and all he has to do is see a Muggle Doctor...
@Ryowulf4 ай бұрын
I think of his bad leg as a reference to Professor Snape, seeing that he too had a bad leg in the first Harry Potter movie

I think Its worth to mention that prof Aesop Sharp takes a lot after a historical figure- greek poet Aesop, whether it was planned (more likely) by the developers or not. When I heard his name the first time in the game I immediately remebered the ancient writer we learned about at school. He was famous for his "sharp" sense of humor and wise tales mostly about: fate, courage, humblessness.... Even if you take a look at his marble statue, his facial features look EXACTLY like prof Sharp (minus hairstyle). And, according to historical records, real life Aesop had some kind of body disfigurment: a limp, hunched back, scars or some say that he was a person with dwarfizm. I'm not saying that I've cracked the system, but I see what you're doing, developers, I see you. And, to be honest, this makes this character even deeper, and heck, best in the game (along miss Garlick in my opinion).

He's literally just a carbon copy of Snape. The hair, the gloomy and unsmiling demeanor. Even his last name Sharp is a lazy, uninspired rip off version Snape's. Only perhaps unlike Snape he's much less bitter, hateful and edgy... a lite version of him if you will. They really could've come up with something more original with his personality.

@@user-sy9ev8hh5ksomeone else pointed this out but sharp is only a cc of Snape on a surface level. In many ways they’re oppposite Sharp was an auror who becomes a professor and Snape was a death eater who becomes a professor. They’re on opposite sides of the lawful spectrum. Sharp favors honesty and good work ethic and Snape prefers shortcuts and deception. Snape hides his past and resents anyone who brings it up whereas sharp is quite transparent about his past (he has his auror badge in his desk and talks openly with the new student about his injuries).

I can't help but wonder two things. 1. Why doesn't he use a cane? 2. Does his injury cause him pain?
@ClementineWolf Жыл бұрын
1. He has a cane - it stands in his bedroom. But apparently he only uses it in his rooms. Perhaps he wants to look worthy in front of students and colleagues, so he does not use auxiliary means in public. 2. It is impossible to say for sure, but most likely yes. Rarely any lameness is not accompanied by pain.
@kirikakirikakirika Жыл бұрын
@@ClementineWolf That's what I was thinking. It's kind of sad when you take that into consideration. He's such a cool character, but I wish they expanded on him a bit more.
@ClementineWolf Жыл бұрын
@@kirikakirikakirika I'd like that too. The stories of all the professors are interesting, but this one has sunk into my soul the most. In general, I want more lessons, more opportunities to observe the teaching style and get to know professors better. It seems to me that a separate film can be made about Sharpe. About his career, the Scarborough incident and teaching at Hogwarts.
@kirikakirikakirika Жыл бұрын
@@ClementineWolf I completely agree. Also, watching it through a second time, I think you're right about his pain. You can see him wince when he puts the potion on the desk and sits down, and when he stands back up, he gasps.

If you read the letter from Sebastian to Anne in their Feldcroft cottage, Sebastian says something like, Hogwarts is not the same without her, but that Prof Sharpe is as cranky or foul as ever. (Cranky isn’t the exact word, I can’t recall it off the top of my head) But my point is that it seems that Sebastian doesn’t like Prof Sharpe that much though I was like why?! The guy is so cool. Strict but cool. Maybe the fact that his uncle is an ex-auror and so is Sharpe there’s something history there not yet explained. 🤷🏻♀️ But I really loved that these characters have the suggestion of depth and potential here. Prof Sharpe was 😎.
@kirikakirikakirika4 ай бұрын
I think it's probably more so because Sebastian is a little sht who doesn't listen to anyone and Sharp probably doesn't tolerate it.
