For anyone having a problem with the dodging or protego - put on the fidelity setting or whichever one is for higher and smoother framerate. Dodge mechanics in games nowadays are taking a hit because frames are not constant and stable anymore because of the ps5 and xbox series x/s releases. You get FPS drops in the higher graphics settings which causes attacks to appear faster or your dodge window to be significantly smaller for no reason. PC players usually fix that by optimizing the settings for a constant refresh rate at the best settings but you can't do that with the consoles so a lot of players don't understand why dodging/parrying/counters have been so difficult for them lately. Hope this helps yall.

I've played roughly 12 hours. I didn't rush the main story and did a good number of side quests in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. I unlocked the Loom after 12 hours. IMO, here is where you should slow down and focus on the closest and starting side quests. Alohamora is also key during this time.

Meanwhile I got wrecked in my dueling club vs those 4 wizards on normal mode hahaha. The combat is a little overwhelming at first.

Didn't help that the lock-on aim would arbitrarily focus on the pendulum or the flying book near the ceiling. Took me like 10 tries to get past that duel.

I compare the difficulty between Elden Ring and Hogwarts this way. There were times in Elden Ring where I said "ok, step away from the game, go do something else". And then i'd come back in an hour and kill that boss or whatever. In Hogwarts the difficulty is more "well... I did a dumb, I can get this if I stop doing dumb" and then 5 minutes later you kill the thing. It can be challenging but it's never painful.

A tactic I've found to be very effective in combat is to cast Avada Kedavra.

During the video, you said to have at least x1 Control, x1 Force & x1 Damage spell. Got a sample skillset? One where most, if not, all x3 spells work well together? For the Control spell, I’ve chosen Glacius❄️

What helped me a lot was read the ingame codex. It taught so many tricks to use on specific mobs that are not only fun, but also an IWIN.

I wouldn't put any points into stealth. Unless it is a specific style of play that you want to use regularly. 12 points, 12 skills you have to choose to never have. That is 4 I would sacrifice.

For the troll rock thing, I've found that a perfect block can deflect the rock back at them (I think?), It may be something else but that's the most likely reason to me

Can you stack traits by having the same trait in multiple pieces of gear?

Is there any danger in raiding those encampment chests before unlocking traits in game? Will I still unlock them and just not be able to use them yet? Because I've been doing some of the encampment and I'm definitely not far enough in game to mod my gear yet. Want to make sure I'm not missing out

no, you stil get them from chests. You will ahve them ready once you unlock gear upgrades via story progress

Err. No. There is a main story element that involves a descent into spider infested areas. It’s really not too bad! You’ll feel strong smashing them around :)

@@Liku2301 then you're in for a world of pain. nearly every single cave or dungeon I've visited so far (I'm +/- 40 hours in) had spiders. So much so that even someone who's not particularly arachnophobic such as myself felt a bit of an adrenaline rush while exploring. There were times where I would have to crawl beneath a tight space and there were these baby acromantulas (the size of a puppy) crawling right along with me. They didn't attack but it was very uneasing. Now, to be fair, spamming Revelio helps you in the sense that it shows spiders lurking beyond the walls and prevents you from getting jumpscared (most of the time anyway). It also highlights them in red so that you don't really see their features in detail, merely a silhouette. But who knows? Maybe the person above was right. You might get a feeling of empowerment once you realize how easy it is to crush these lil bastards.

I found a cool new trick. Those goblin archers who love to try to tag you with that unblockable shot, before they fire you can use a ancient magic throw on the arrow there about to fire at you and throw it back.

Trolls are easier if you don't teleport dodge red attack and just do simple dodges because it's easier to avoid their combo red attack and makes them go into a yellow club attack that can be easily dodged and use flipendo on them so their club hits them in the head. Also their rock throw is easy to perfect parry so you don't need to grab it from the air to throw it at them, it just gets automatically reflected back by the parry and so you can continue with a stupefy. That is of course very good upgraded to do damage and to curse the enemy too.

You wont be able to get all the skills in the game. I've heard the level cap is 40, and you start getting talent points at level 5, so probably 35 talent points in total

No potions mentions? and above all, no plant mentions? the combat goes really fucking great and easy when you use plants, and also upgrades do count, that's why the room of requirement is so important you can stuck up for everything you need. I was playing on normal and the game got very very easy, and even on hard it feels fucking great.

The mouse and keyboard controls for dueling is so counter- intuitive. Caps lock for lock on and the arrow keys to change target? wtf? That meNs I gotta take my hands off the mouse to change targets. Working on a better keyboard layout

When you enter combat, little hints appear on screen that say "Dueling Feat". It's usually stuff like "interrupt an ashwinder with depulso" and such. Do those during combat to complete the challenge.

It’s not and it gets pretty damn challenging. The fights showcased in this video are weak. You can easily find yourself fighting 7 or more enemies at once and it gets a bit crazy.

Hey everyone I can’t wait to play this game on my Nintendo wii, given that I was born a girl with a wand I think I’ll make a natural spell caster I can’t wait to see what kinds of magic we can learn!! I hope I get to learn transfiguration personally, even though I was assigned potions at birth, Anyways, I thought it’s pretty cool they gave Dumbledore more holes in this game, but the system for detecting what gender you are irl doesn’t seem to work! It keeps thinking I’m a boy which is pretty crazy!! But don’t worry everyone! I’ll keep sending pictures of my wand to Warner brothers in the mail! They keep sending me money on PayPal but I just want them to confirm my gender in game!! Hehehe silly Warner brothers!! 😋 I’m sure eventually they’ll confirm I’m a girl and let me play! I’m so confused on the in depth videos for the Hogwarts game? It made sense for Elden Ring that had intentionally obtuse quest, game mechanics, secrets ext. the game is design to be extremely difficult to unpack without community socialization. Hogwarts Legacy is just a typical AAA titles that spoon feeds everything to players because there primary audience is literal children. So the game is easy to understand and pretty simple to master. What’s the point of an in-depth mechanics breakdown if the mechanics are just shallow AAA normalities.
