Hogwarts Legacy - My Thoughts (after 9 hours of gameplay)

My favourite part is how they actually paid homage to those old Harry Potter games from the early 2000s, mainly the first two, and their design choices. I grew up with The Philosopher's Stone on PC and I just love running around Hogwarts in Legacy and noticing all these small design choices and sound effects and just the general atmosphere that borrows perfectly from that game. It genuinely feels like Hogwarts to me.

Ive played through all the houses and by pure coincidence I just started again with a pimp character. Word to harry potters mother yo

Overall I’d say it is pretty good fanservice wise but just the absolute epitome of modern open world mediocrity otherwise. The Hogwarts castle content is great, but the stuff outside it is just painfully bland and uninteresting. IMO would have been far better as a more linear RPG experience that let you make more actual choices. Also, the combat is fun fundamentally but isn’t deep enough to not start feeling REALLY repetitive near the end, especially in all those overly long wave combat sections.

Cheers, yes I actually did say that in the vid, am I enjoying this more because I love the setting. I'll definitely do another vid when I complete it, see if the magic lasted :)

⁠@@cruachankeithif you were looking at the more “online” discourse people definitely cared about her. Personally, I despise her views on a lot of things, but its not like boycotting would make an impact on her imo. I honestly doubt she even knew about the game beyond that some people were making a game about her property.

But yeah, the majority of people probably didn’t pay attention to it because of that controversy, they just saw “ooh Harry Potter game i like those books” and bought it
