Now that make sense why he is always sitting on the floor between the window and the globe or standing against the wall near DADA area. Almost all of them misunderstand Ominis. Or just simply afraid or avoid him. Dude left bad first impression on me because when I choose other houses, there is no introduction of him. But when I join as a Slytherin, he is actually a kind hearted person despite his sarcastic remarks. He is loyal, caring, and sensitive toward his friends. Even when his only friend, despite knowing Ominis's abusive childhood, still using him to achieve his goal and slowly descend into darkness. He cares a lot. Ominis is the only character that keeps me progressing with Sebastian quest line. Because that one quest line is quite tragic no matter what you choose for Sebastian in the end.

@@gianghuynh9570 I prefer the later choice. Have you seen other videos from this channel? They are breaking down the unused scripts using SQL things and turns out romance system was planned all along but for some reason the developer just cut it all out. Sad. And I wonder if, in the earlier development, Anne and Sebastian wasn't supposed to be twins but perhaps love interest since they have nothing in common in the unused scripts.

Never heard of these lines in game but I had this headcanon that apart from Sebastian and other Slytherins Ominis was pretty lonely and avoided by other students. The sad combination of an infamous name and the blindness making him different and probably a bit scary (pale eyes, unusual wand, exceptional hearing…), I can completely see Hogwarts teenagers having strong prejudice against him 😢

There was some talk on other videos and threads that it seemed the quest line for Ominis was supposed to be MUCH longer, like his family's home is in the files. Also that the other students were originally going to be intimidated and afriad of Ominis, and generally avoid him. Poor Ominis!! I kind of wonder if the space between discovering Feldcroft secrets with Seb and going to the Scriptorium wasn't meant to be a big quest delving into Ominis and his history more; especially since some of the Hogsmeade villagers very rarely discuss the Gaunts, particuarly his mom and how awful she is. ^^; Ominis deserves waaay more face time in the next game!!!

Honestly, knowing what happened I find it ironic that all those NPC's are going on about how Sebastian is such a good guy and all, while slandering Ominis for the use of the dark arts... Meanwhile Seb is falling head first into them with Ominis doing his darnest to keep him away. Like, don't take me wrong. I adore both of them and I wish for nothing more, but for my choices to actually matter when it comes to stopping Seb... But Omi is so freaking pure! I got so mad that no matter what I chose and what I did in the game, Seb ended pretty much the same, except for the absolute ending... Luckily we have fanfiction and imagination!

At first I was like: “Jesus, dude! No need to threaten me with this Underctoft thing. What an edgy lord!”. But then I was like: “Bro… what a nice chap. I even feel like standing for him when Sebastian was showing no empathy at all for him being terrified in the Slytherin scriptorium.” First impressions may be deceiving. Even if your bring Sebastian in or not to the authorities you still have a very good friend.

To be fair, while it was definitely rude of Sebastian to say "Ridiculous, as if dying is better than casting a spell." It's, er, true. I mean, Ominis is literally saying he'd rather all three of them die than face his fears. That's like refusing to tie up your friend's severed arm and letting him bleed to death because you're scared of blood. Like, bro. Not cool for a best friend. I love Ominis' complex denial-land personality but the kid isn't someone I'd personally want for a best friend in his current state, maybe after he matures a bit more. Like, Ominis. If you give me permission to mind control you, you might as well step aside on your own. It's the same. The fact that you're nicer to me later if I use Imperio, means that you're aware of the mental gymnastics you're doing here.

@@SwordmaidenGwenI understand why they did it but I feel like ominis and Sebastian are two opposite ends of a rope with us in the middle. Ominis seems more responsive to us as time goes on while Sebastian closes himself off till he is in too deep. It’s an interesting thing for sure.

It's more like he gets more desperate and impatient, understandable considering that Solomon was going to take Anne away and he was on a literal timer and couldn't wait for busy MC to clear the Main Story, but I will agree that Ominis warms up to us as the story progresses. Though not in a good way, as it's more like Ominis gives up more as time passes, going from trying to do something himself, stand up for what he believes, to begging us to do something and finally just saying "okay, I'm giving you full responsibility since you want my job as Sebastian's best friend. It's your fault if anything bad happens now, not mine." And right at the end, Ominis gives away the most important decision, too. My man shirks responsibility like an FFXIV tank shirks aggro.

It's because Ominis is like a hedgehog. He shows his back full of spikes to most people so they think he's a rude, hateful being but if he decides to show his (real) face you'll soon find out how nice he can be.

These are legit game voices, not AI. They're in the game files but unused - if you're on PC, you can see this for yourself if you know how to datamine the game files. The only way you can get NPCs to say these lines is if you know how to restore the unused content into the game, which is (1) only possible on PC and (2) requires modding experience.
