Blown away by the effort you've put in this video. Thank you, sir. I'm grabbing this gimbal tomorrow after extensive research. I'll be rewatching your video again to set it up, very concise and thorough walk-through. Based on my research (not personal experience), when it comes to cons: 1. it's not the smallest (some competitors can be stuffed in a pocket, not this one... but the small ones can't carry this much weight); 2. You need to rebalance it if you change from landscape to portrait (some competitors adjust automatically but they can't work with this much weight). What sold me on this one (not a pro; my first gimbal) is the face tracking that works without their proprietary app (competitors work with the app only). It means I can use say teleprompter app to record or Zoom to just stream or whatever and it will still follow me around. I haven't found this functionality in others and for my particular use case it's a big win and critically important feature. BTW, just wanted to add... you mentioned you haven't seen this functionality even in camera gimbals. FYI, Hohem has got model MT2 that is significantly more expensive (big brother?), has got this feature and works with cameras as well. I personally somehow can never take my camera with me (too bulky) but for someone 'more serious' that might be another option to consider. Big brother as far as I know can carry way more weight, fits for cameras and phones. Just my few cents.

Do you know if anyone makes a compact 180-degree USB-C multiport that would snap onto the bottom edge of the phone - without a cable - to allow connected SSD/CF storage to piggyback, plus provide a BT microphone input? Trying to avoid messy cables if I were to buy this M6.

Great review, got mine arriving tomorrow and this just cemented that I made the right decision (I'm sending back the Smart X as the movement was just too limited for me, nicely made gimbal though). I'm thinking that I can use that flexi cable to attach an SSD so that I can record LOG footage straight to that.... hopefully I can rig something up that works.

Excellent communicator ! 🙏✅👍 How do you hook up the wireless mic ( Like the Rode receiver ) to feed the audio-in, if the lightning port is being used for charging the phone ? If the gimbal is 500 gms in weight ,( 1 lb ) + phone weight ( 1/2 lb ) doesn’t it feel heavy , if you are vlogging , holding your arm out for 15 or 20 minutes ? Is the light rechargeable ? Wish I could find one in a store in Houston , but I have not found it anywhere ? In your opinion , how does this gimbal compare to the DJI Osmo 6 or Zhiyun Smooth 5S ? Thanks buddy ! 🙏👍🎈

Hello, the only thing not covered is IRL Livestreaming through KZbin. Of course, you can't use the Hohem App. I have to say I have had very disappointing results trying to livestream through KZbin. It is literally impossible to find a gimbal to stream via KZbin on an iphone 13pro max. Not sure if you've tested this elsewhere? Ps. this is a beautifully explained video, so I will definitely be following you for more great reviews!

Man, I ordered one of these a few days ago and am excited about it now! Hopefully it works well for my shaky iPhone so I can stop using my 360 cam for EVERYTHING. 360 footage is just a nightmare to edit properly! It would be great to just use my iPhone instead of GoPro, insta360 x3, canon t8i, etc. I just wish this had an extension like the DJI om6 to get that extra height.

I just purchased the Hohem M6 and there’s a few things that I’m either not doing right or that’s just the way this product is. 1. After recording in selfie mold, the video plays backwards. For instance, it’s a mirror image instead of the actual image that you’re supposed to see. Is there a feature in the settings to change this? 2. When shooting with the AI, if I hold the camera close to my face, it’s always cutting off the top of my head. Is that just the way it is, or can I change this in settings as well? 3. Also, when using the AI function, if I move too fast, it loses me and I have to reposition in front of the camera so that it can reengage. Why would it do that if this device can be used while shooting sporting events? 2. Can this be used with just the regular iPhone camera, as opposed to the Hohem App? Sorry for the bombardment, but I really like this thing and I would hate to send it back

I received my M6. It was without the lightning cable to USB-C. I sent an email to Hohem. Hohem replied requesting my invoice and address. They stated that this cable would be sent me, from a warehouse in China. Hopefully it's not on too slow of a boat. Update, After a follow-up email to Hohem customer service, I mentioned that there is a Hohem warehouse in California. They got back to me with good news. Hohem was sending the Lightning to USB-C cable from onshore. As a first time customer, I now feel confident about Hohem. If you happen to buy the M6 and you are a iPhone user with a Lightning port, I recommend to contact Hohem for the proper cable. BTW Amazon has only a 2 venders selling the short length Lightning w/right angle to USB-C cable.

The big quwstion is what framerates and resolutions does the hohem app support? For example with an s23 ultra the dji osmo 6 is only 30 frames max at 1080 and 4k resolution which is unacceptable

I own a S23 and I did saw a review (kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3jGp2hmo5p1bM0) for some reason the apps are like downgraded for android phones. Like in the review, the iPhone 14 pro had options for 24, 30 and 60 fps and the video quality to 4K but for the S23 it only allows 24 and 30 fps and no 4K if i rmb correctly. Also, the slow mo is not given in the Hohem Joy App for S23 while the iPhone 14 has that option. Not too sure if the app will be updated to suit android phones. The other question i want to know is if its possible to do all the gimbal tricks like inception without having to use the gimbal app since it limits my video quality.

I previously bought another brand gimbal, and cannot use it, because I can't use the iPhone holder with it, because my iPhone is in a heavy duty, waterproof case. @@BlueGlimpser actually you can, there is that setting in hohem joy app "ICP rotation speed". However, i tried finding ways to spin in a different direction and could not find a way to do it. I also want to stop the spin and still record some footage but could not do it either, it will keep spinning. no way to stop it which is a bummer.
