Why was the Lord only responsible in your mind for the good things? Why not the tough times, too? If the Lord really existed, and if he were looking out for you, he might have been a bit nicer and spared you the tough times, no? In order to believe any religion, you have to leave logic and basic common sense at the door. Life is way too short to be doing that.

She seems to be a true professional. She talks about and treat every harmonica with respect. Even the cheaper ones. I like that.
@RandomGuy-qy3rd4 жыл бұрын
Well, she probably got paid for this -promotion- demonstration. She can't directly say that the cheaper ones are crap. ;)
@b.j.thomas86063 жыл бұрын
plus, she actually made the cheap ones sound reasonable (before hearing the good ones, that is)

My Dad used to play "Marine Bands" while I was growing up in the 60s and 70s. I had no idea there was such a large variety. Hhe used to cup his hands completely around the harmonica then open and close his palms changing the intonation and brightness. He had no formal training but he could play any song perfectly by ear.

Thank you for that trip down memory lane . My dad was a harmonica player , most especially before coming to America from Zwartsluis NL . He and two other harmonica players formed a trio that played all the bars around Holland . If I remember one guy played a double harmonica 14 or 16 inches long that was hinged . The other guy played a large 12 or 14 inch ( likely metric sizes) and my dad played an 8 inch or so and they were very popular . This was back in the late 40's and early 50's

When I was a kid, I had a cheap bargain-store harmonica and played it like a glorified kazoo. One day I heard a harmonica virtuoso play. He could make that thing joyously dance or soulfully cry. A lesson in music appreciation: The right instrument in the right hands could make "Wow!"

Amazing. For more than four decades I have played bass to countless harp players. Not once have I asked what harmonica they were playing; I only was interested in how they played. Now, I have a new respect for the harp and the player.

I started playing harp back when I was 15 years old, I'm 70 now. I'm just now starting to play again and I still love the sound of the Blues played on the harp. My favorite harp these days is the Lee Oskar, made in Japan. I also have some really cheap harps that came in a box set. Back when I was a kid I'm sure I drove people crazy always playing...lol

Annie, you're a great player and great inspiration to all of us female players. Very nice, honest review of the Hohner line; love the acoustics of that stairwell by the way! Thanks Annie, I have spent 40+ years playing . I'll never forget playing my o'l faithful MB,s and one day back in the mid 1970s(my age has stolen the exact date from me)I walked into the music Store and there laid "The Special 20" as the front man of the band my Harp playing changed our song list for the better, I played Train,Train so much better and at times I thought I was Jimmy Hall of (Wet Willi) or Magic Dick ( J Giles Band) so this Demo is not just Great, but takes me back to the 'Very good old days", so again Thanks Again Ms Annie Hope to see you in Indy soon. Jammer
