Hoi4 Equestria at War - Friendship for Griffonia

Played on Elite EaW v1.7.6.2 Hoi4 Husky v1.9.3 (a7a4), Non-historical Equestria Historical Harmonic, Griffonian Empire Supremacist Archon, Griffonian Republic Supremacist Suntail, Aquilea non-aligned, Lake City Supremacist Westerley Leeward, Hellquill Supremacist.
Pardon any incorrect Herzlandic (German). I actually do enjoy a crack-shipping Archibald joke once in awhile, but I thought I'd also show he and Harmonic Greifenmarschen is/can be a bit more than that as well. The one reference I did make was frankly only a deliberately vague implication since as far as I know, in EaW canon, his fanfic hobbies has only ever been a rumor. EDIT: According to Silverstorm/EmpressBridle/GAP_Trixie(Reddit) (Archibald's artist) it is confirmed.
For AI choices, I could not figure out how to deal with the duchess so I set it to archon and prayed he didn't choose war with me right after Yale (which did happen quite a bit). For the Riverlands, I wanted Westerly to make the first strike and drag the coalition into being the aggressor (which happened on my last experimental run). Unfortunately he got Lake City and somehow just Lake City demolished by Gryphian and Lushi (who became their new overlord). Fortunately, Diamond Mountain's aggression provided some justification for a war with the Riverlands. Also Suntail actually won his civil war this round so that was there.

That's a pretty neat one I've yet to see. Usually the GE rolls over everyone or becomes such a mess for so long that Angriver takes over after Griffenheim switches hands like three times.

Well, you've got a different stroke of luck than I have. I usually see the GE roll over everything or occasionally Strawberry takes over, but I haven't seen AI Angriver or any other herzalnd minor take over before. Frankly, I'm a bit envious.

@@applepieofdeath One factor that I noticed leading into it is if the duchy gets the regent position, but her own territory rejects her. Has her and sometimes the dogs going to war against the strawberry and feathisia. No matter who wins, they leave completely battered enough for the southern nations to build up and resist in due time.

I played as Equestrian Peacekeepers. I puppeted Changelings plus Olenia after they attacked and guaranteed some harmonic nations, like the Riverlands. It was kinda fun, but less fun than playing Supremacy to paint the entire map one colour. Either way, any wars after 1015 are usually just mop-up operations.

Unfortunately it's been quite awhile since I played a Herzlander, but I always felt it demanded a bit of luck back then and even now, so everything I say is not exactly a guarantee but: 1. AIs tend to be horrible at solo multi-front wars, it's the reason why in Vanilla, the Allies naval invasion spams are so effective and why the Soviets usually lose just because Japan joined and the reason why in this case, while I did manage to get the troops to 7-2*, they were under supplied/trained but I still needed to join the war** immediately to not lose the numbers advantage. 2. If just like in this case you don't feel you can take Griffenheim in the first war, save whatever anti-imperial focus you have for it's successor. Feathisia, Strawberry, etc. the moment they claim the throne/regency, the moment they lose their guarantees, and while they are still weakish, a lot more easy to manage. 3. I've recently noticed the AI Empire occasionally get bogged down, probably due to supply. See where it is, it might give you some ideas on where to set up a defensive line, it's fine to hold at first and strike later or again let someone else do some of the work. 4. There's always going to be a luck factor, what I didn't show is that I did experiment with both the Prince and Republic path, but both due to a lack of ideas and for some reason Eros kept rushing me before I can forge any mutual guarantees whenever I tried that route, I decided against the Republic. 5. I'm not sure it this is actually a good idea for Herzlanders, but maintenance companies being able to steal equipment is something I tend to consider when I'm outgunned against a highly aggressive enemy. But again I haven't tried this for them only with Vanilla 1939 Poland, ELF, and Hippogriffia during the North Zebrica War. *In this patch, I'd probably recommend 6-0 or 6-1s at this stage of the game. **Manual justify if you have to.
