Hi mate. I am 60 and have a back issue which means I cannot do outside activities like I used to. So I started playing PC games again to occupy my mind. I have always wanted to play a war game like HOI4 but it is so complex. Having been a user of tutorial videos like yours for other games, I have to say, your step by step guide here IS TOTALLY AMAZING!! A big thanks from me. I feel I can get into this game having started watching and playing along with each episode of your tutorials. Thank you for your kind words. I also have some back issues that prevent me from doing certain things, so being able to find alternatives, like this do make a big difference. I have 4 small channels in total, although not all tutorial based. This one, Internet Flight Rules (flightsim/xplane based) - Tactical Takeover (esports commentary) and an older Fox 3 Simulations (DCS World). The reason your submarines did not train at the same speed was that 2 of the subs were added to the flotilla after they were constructed. You increased the flotilla size from 8 to 10 and then set them to train.

I'm currently working on a slightly different video (singular) for the channel, but then we'll see afterwards whatever might be coming down the pipeline from Paradox. Know any good suggestions?

If I were you, I would look at the next most played Paradox game and do a similar tutorial series on that. One playlist each for EU4, CK3 and Stellaris. Become known as the go-to channel for the most in-depth follow along tutorials for newcomers. With enough views etc get in touch with Paradox and see if they would sponsor you for more tutorials of newly released games. Also, don’t be shy to ask for more superthanks. It reminded me to give you mine. Start and end every video with a brief reminder. Again, I can’t tell you enough that these are the most well-structured, well-organised tutorials I have come across and clearly you are very intelligent and a gifted teacher. I am a former teacher at secondary school and an online tutor now so I know about that and you are very gifted. You’re so thorough. I’m now on part 7. Thanks so much

I think you missed something, during around 26:20, you mention how the sub was a lower rank because it was damaged. I think you forgot that you recruited new subs to come in, and those new subs would obviously not be trained.

Was worried at first that following along with the tutorial would feel a bit too much like learning to use spreadsheet software rather than playing a game, but to be fair your explanations of things are quite involved and enjoyable; I definitely feel like this tutorial so far has prepared me to actually play around and have some fun myself with an understanding rather than, as you said, a quick start that is just like "click this this and this" cheers Brainer

You (probably accidentally) did not train your surface ships, only the subs, because you were explaining the strike force mechanic and then probably forgot to train them

So, one question I have is why do we have so many generals with so few divisions when they can hold 24?

He did it to explain how generals, field marshals, battle plans, and etc… ideally you want the maximum amount of that type of unit your general boosts for your generals and by extension your battegroups(field marshal)

my Spanish civil war already started.... its hard to follow when events are sort of random, i know im meant to send troops over there but dont want to skip around your playlist to make things extra confusing, i wonder if you have a solution maybe for next year's hoi4 beginner tutorial

The randomness is indeed an issue, and I'm working on updated save games so that it's possible to follow. Until then, do just watch - I'm getting a lot of positive feedback from people saying it has really helped them.

its a shame that we live in a time where we have to skirt around talking about the historical "that guy" for fear of losing our channels, but apparently its okay for modern politicians to compare and accuse their political opponents of being "that guy" by actual name. its an historical based game teaching video, not a political video. it shouldn't have to be censored by shading pictures of faces and not using his name almost superstitiously. but i totally understand that you don't want to get a video strike, its just a shame that its come to that 😔great series so far, btw!
