In this series, we will be playing a non-aligned alternate history route where King Edward VIII never abdicates during the 1936 constitutional crisis. Of course, there will be consequences for this decision...

I don't think it's the mentality of "we beat Britain alone" we know we had help. But yet you have to think, Britain's men were far superior in training and experience compared to the colonies. Given, France did help train some of the colonists. But the majority were inexperienced and just common people. And as for us paying just one tax, is dumb. We had to pay so many taxes that made no sense, without having a say in parliament. Soooo declaration of Independence.

With MtG you can now release African countries only through Decolonization path. The only African country that can be released manually is Egypt (due to Freegypt achievement).

A couple of naval tips for starting as the UK: - Start training the fleet to gain naval XP 1) Duplicate either the A/B/C/D Class or the V/W Class template and add sonar for 5 XP. No other changes. Refit all the existing destroyers of that class. They should only take 4 days each. 2) Updating the E/F/G/H Class template will take a lot more XP. Research Sonar II first to use on it. 3) Although the UK can use a ship designer to get +15% attack and armor on their tier 2 battleships, there isn't much they can do with them due to the naval treaty. They can make good battlecruisers, if you wish.

I know this was some time ago, but one of my biggest tips for naval warfare is to research torpedo tubes asap and add it to all of your ship variants, then upgrade your current ships so they all have torpedo tubes. BIG advantage. :D

Watching this now because I was watching Saxon Savagery this Friday. (Or was it Thursday?) Kinda disappointed you didn't go for the royal marriage choice. This means when Edward the eighth dies, Elizabeth the second will still become Queen. Or, there could be an option to get a royal marriage later, so we'll see about that. Anyways, good work as always and I'll continue watching this and catch up with the progress!

Best UK game was Mass Assault with 6:2:1 Infantry (six infantry, two line artillery, and one light tank destroyer), and swarms of tactical bombers and heavy fighters, doing an unexpected naval invasion just north of Hamburg. I call it the "Stab Hitler in the Throat" strategy. Works well enough in single player ironman. You can also change to the carrier-based naval doctrine to get the 50% port strike bonus, and go straight for Hamburg - cheese, buns, pickles, and all. NOTE: Superior Firepower is probably better - I did Mass Assault to be different.

Decolonisation is the historical path, but the British empire didn't lose most of its colonial possessions until the mid 50s and 60s. That tells me we might have a timeline extension on the way to lead into a cold war period, with the allies after just winning WW2, also preparing for the next one with an even bigger threat.

I know I am late here, but the nazis staying on control is actually BETTER for britain, if you go for the imperialist route. If germany goes monarchist as well, they have the ability to declare war on you (that is if they go for 'focus on the true enemy'). And also, if the nazis stay, you can join the axis and easily beat any opponent you want. Exept for maybe Italy in the beginning, you have to navaly invade them, or hope that germany breaks through the alps

Don't know if you'll do this, but if you ever decide to do a German Empire playthrough, here's a hint - get into a war before deciding on whether you want to remilitarise the Rhineland or depose Hitler. Assuming they haven't patched it out, you can then depose Hitler and bypass the remilitarisation, allowing you to Anschluss and reclaim Polish Prussia whilst under the Kaiser.
