Ya poor Jay must be tired himself as how can we be resting a player that needs match fitness in ugarte and Europe is slower pace than premiership so should be perfect game for him to get full 90min and he's also used to playing in Europe with psg

Some players need resting, because players like Mainoo and Bruno have barely had a break to begin with and resting players before they burn out isn't a bad thing. But Ugarte is one of the players that don't need it.

Resting doesn't just mean they need a rest, it's about rotating and protecting people from injuries. Do you remember how many injuries we had last season? Ugarte is being eased in because he didn't really have a preseason. Getting up to match fitness doesn't just mean "you need to play every minute until you're fit". You guys will go off on anything these days.

@@meldrew69 has pretty much summed it up. When someone hasn't played much is when you need to be most careful with them. Because they haven't played much doesn't automatically mean they can play every game. It's usually the opposite. They have to be eased in before they can begin to play full 90s with regularity otherwise you run risks, chiefly injuries. That's mainly what match fitness is.

All opinions are welcome, but I think the reasoning is that playing 2 games in 4 days is not a great idea. We need to be careful and keep rotating, given what happened last season with injuries.

Europa League is a bigger trophy now than it was 10 years ago, because the top leagues are now more competitive and seeing big clubs miss out on CL (Villa, Brighton, previously Leicester, Atalanta, Bologna, Girona, etc)

Now unlike most of last season we actually don't have any players out that would automatically elevate the team upon return. With the possible exception of luke shaw (who we need to learn to live without.) bottom line is we need to make this group of players work. There is no one coming to the rescue.

@@paulhegarty8380 He scored 16 goals last season in his first year as a young player adapting having started initially with a back injury - showed promise. He scored in pre season but then got injured so missed a lot of it. He will be catching up on fitness for a while. Stop being so reactionary.

Henderson is a great keeper and always has been - he was brilliant and a fan favorite during three tough loans, now he's doing great at Palace and will probably become England's number one He also looked good under Ole..... For some reason United fans straight up disrespect him, many actually hate him, and I still don't understand why - just a very strange fan base ETH arrived with DeGea, Henderson and Kovar as keepers - arguable the best keeper bench in world football Now he has Onana, Bayinder and Heaton - arguably the worst in the EPL The man is a terrorist

If Mount plays in the Europa League games and Bruno is kept as a starter for the Premier League, that should mean that ETH is no longer interested in the Premier League. Premier League has always been the first and most important competition for any English club let a lone Manchester United. If you as a Manager want to do your best in a competition, you don't rely on Bruno as a starter let a lone your first choice for his position, because he is liability and will not win you games. We witness the third season in a row of Bruno being a complete failure both as a player and as a Captain.
