The Hoka Cielo X-1 is one of the newest marathon racing shoes to hit the market. It has an aggressive midsole geometry, tall stack of dual-density PEBA foam, carbon-fiber plate and $275 price point. Over the past few weeks, I put the shoe through my marathon racer test, taking it for a first run, a workout, a 22 mile long run and a relaxed 13 miler. Here are my thoughts on the shoe after 50 miles.
