I do find it weird that someone from Rivals would take the time to comment on Concord. Even free to play, if this game did not have Marvel super heroes, this game would be DOA as well. People know and can connect to the characters off rip without any need to learn the lore behind them. I like Rivals, but as much as I like it, I don't think this game will truly last. It has a player base made up of people who probably don't really play hero shooters like that and will move on, and Overwatch players. As an Overwatch player myself I can tell you these two games do not scratch the same itch. They only LOOK similar on a surface level, but they are not even close to the same game. Mind you I have not touched OW2 since Rivals came out, but I would play the two games for very different reasons.

For Concord the storyline doesn't mean much if we know nothing about the characters and have no investment in them and let's be real it was a 6v6 shooter most of us was going to skip past those 1-3 min cutscenes and jump in a queue

Concord Flopped because it had a 40 dollar price tag in a market dominated by F2P games, the shitty art design, mid gameplay, and weird identity politics probably didn’t help much, but that price tag was too hefty for not a good enough game.

Marvel rivals is only Popular because it’s marvel…..not taking anything from the developers it’s a polished and clearly inspired game with passion behind it but it’s literally just 3rd person overwatch even down to some of the character abilities. The “team ups” are cool but that’s honestly not a draw. If this game weren’t marvel and was all original characters no one would care

I feel like one of the biggest reasons why Concord failed was because of how poorly marketed the game was I didn't hear anything about this game until i saw a guy stream it and I'm not gonna lie I actually liked it when i played the beta it didn't blow me away but it was definitely solid. The character designs definitely needed some work and it being 40 dollars didn't help it either. It wasn't a bad game it just was the textbook definition of mid. But the way some people would talk about Concord would make you believe it was a ugly buggy unplayable hunk of junk but i don't even remember really encountering bugs. I would have loved to see that game turn into something but it got killed.

My guy, if the Marvel IP is so successful, why didn't Marvel's Avengers succeed, even with the backing of the Marvel IP? I've said plenty of times that Concord was trash due to its gameplay it’s the worst thing I’ve seen in human existence. If I’m lying, why didn’t any Overwatch players like it? They even criticized how terrible it is and saw no future in it. I’d say the Overwatch community is mostly left-leaning people, but yeah... It isn’t about character design; it had a part to play, but when it comes down to games, it’s about gameplay. If that’s hot garbage, don’t expect any players to play it

What makes a game unique isn’t just the mode but how it uses and innovates on those elements. Take a game with 30+ characters, for example, where each one is creative and distinct in their own way. A character like Doctor Strange how often do you see a game featuring mechanics similar to his? Or Winter Soldier, whose design and abilities are extremely unique. What makes these games special is their focus on heroes, not the game mode itself. Otherwise, by that flawed logic, Battlefield is just a copy of Call of Duty, and Call of Duty is a copy of Medal of Honor. Do you see the issue here? It’s not about who did it first it’s about what you create and how you innovate to make it unique. The ability to take something familiar and transform it into something fresh is what truly sets a game apart

I haven't finished the segment yet but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you watch 28 days later amazing zombie movie imo it's in the top 5 for best zombie horror flicks. The sequel 28 weeks miss stepped a little but still a solid watch. Can't wait for 28 years later.
