It is interesting to see that the old man told Kenshiro in some way Musoei Tensei as he told him to engrave the souls of Kenshiros died friends into himself. This is the same principle as Musoei Tensei, gathering souls through sad battles. Great movie

Great anime but the ending was sad but on hindsight, the twist shows that this was actually the beginning which in Epilogue after the End Credits rolled, the journey of Kenshiro led into the events of original Fist of North Star storyline we all know.

This is my favorite out of all the Hokuto No Ken movies. I wish they had a Kaioh one though or maybe Shachi , Maybe even Falco or maybe they could have made a movie about Rei Gaiden. Redoing the whole tired Souther thing and Raoh was a bit much but at least they added Reina ect which was awesome. Also since Kenshiro has a son in this continuity I wonder if his son or Ryu will be the successor , hmm I'd like to see Rin and Bat's child or children honestly.

I never liked the Ryu thing like the mangakas fell in love with Raoh. Like I don't dislike the character himself or anything. It's nice Kenshiro trained him. It's just like, Raoh wasn't exactly that deserving or anything. I do like the idea of Shachi or Falco ect. That american guy and Bat could get a side story ect. One with both Kyo and kaioh, maybe showing how Kyo and Kaioh's sister fell in love. The Jagi manga too. Or what about actually adapting the latter stories from the manga. They weren't as big as the original major arcs but they weren't bad. I liked the stuff with the Raoh's "successor", the self taught guy who hated religion, and that's built on the previous arc with the snow city. And the arc with Ryu and Ken trying to stop that new kind of villain, similar to this one, someone who isn't a fighter but hires them, and the last one with Bat trying to help an amnesiac ken are ok.

@@DSan-kl2yc Oh I'm totally down for them animating the manga arcs after Kaioh's death! Yeah Baran the religion hating guy he was a good character and to be brutally honest he showed Raoh wasn't half as heroic as Ken and Yuria would like to paint him as. Like yeah Raoh is a hero in his own right in a hellish time but Baran's flashback showed Raoh was never ever morally superior to Kaioh. At least not in any way that's worth mentioning and Raoh knew this all too well. Yeah I agree with you the mangaka's sucked Raoh off way to much and he was no more worthy of it then Kaioh or Souther really because everything he did to redeem himself Kaioh had and the ends do not justify the means in reality. The biggest reason I'd like to see those arcs animated is so they can finally animate the heartwarming conclusion to Ken , Rin and Bat's love triangle. For such an important arc it's mind blowing to me it's never actually gotten an animation or anything. Closest it got was they had it in Ken's Rage 2 which was great but still it needs to be in anime format too imo. So yeah I'd be totally psyched to see those get animated. I think what I'd really like is an anime all about the gaiden's or a revival anime for a new generation that animates everything gaiden's included.

@@bighex5340 Honestly bro. And just like with Berserk too, all we have is an old anime that only covers a portion of the story and we have to read the manga if we wanna get the whole thing. Like HnK has so much more story after the HnK 2 anime ends. Even the later OVA’s are good, but not top notch quality like they could be nowadays if they do a new anime covering the OG manga.

Honestly as interesting as it is to see a movie that doesn't end on a 'benevolent hero saves everyone' note, that ending was bait-and-switch af. The Chief has two self-destruct buttons, gets 'killed' on-screen, only to be not dead all of a sudden, and set off a THIRD self-destruct switch and die while killing everyone. It's not a twist ending if you edge us twice and then flip the script at the last second. That ending managed to be somehow even more tacky that if Kenshiro just won the day.
