Actually I think that is true for me too. Although I first became their fan in 1997 when Discotheque and Pop came out, this was a song I remembered being played a lot on the radio that I knew was by U2, and I liked it. I also liked the perfecto remix of Even Better Than The Real Thing beforehand. After I discovered their back catalogue I realised I knew quite a few of their songs. I discovered that Desire was a song that used to be played as a jingle on Capital Radio in the early 1990s.

I remember first hearing this song in the summer of 1995 when Batman Forever was playing in the movie theatres right after my first year of University. By September during the first week of back to school, the students union used the title of this song for their University campus Week of Welcome i.e. "WoW" and their motto was "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, WoW Me".

I won tickets to see this tour in D.C. '97. WHFS radio station said the band would be coming out of the dug out of the stadium and sure enough they did. I stood nearby and saw the whole band walk by me 5 feet away from. One of the most memorable concerts. Viva U2!
