I don't know exactly why I added Ares (Maybe I can remove him from the scene), it just made sense when I thought about it. Ares let Ody go while Athena convinced him, because Ody was going to shed blood when he got home. also what the men here are planning to do to Penelope is one of the things Ares hates the most, he is known as the protector of women. and on top of that Penelope is a spartan woman and the people of sparta are the people of Ares, so the suitors here want to do such a disgusting thing to one of the people of Ares as well as a woman. so Ares giving Ody a little buff here is a win win for him. “Take this arrow, King of Ithaca, and show me a beautiful show.'' I think I played too much hades, I thought it was like a mechanic in the game, ody becomes more bloodthirsty, faster and stronger with every kill etc.

I love how, at the beginning, Penelope's ready to defend herself. Especially since in Ancient Greece, Spartan women were trained in athletics and combat alongside their male counterparts (however they were never used in combat). So I feel that it would make sense that Penelope would know the basics of fighting, and that she would definitely put up a fight against the suitors despite being grossly outnumbered. This animatic made me realize a double meaning for the lyrics, "channel the fire inside your soul" being not just Antinous's rallying cry for the suitors, but also an unintentional call to action for Odysseus to unleash 20 years of pent up rage. Also, love the detail of Penelope holding what i assume to be a hairpin or weaving needle as a last line of defense. Also, DID ODY SHOOT ANTINUOUS'S HEAD CLEAN OFF- (that is so cool). Imagine being a suitor, cheering along to Antinous's sick fantasy , and his head just, *pops* right off and rolls onto the table.

two reasons to keep Aries One it would be a good follow up to God Games Two Aries has the epithet Gynaikothoinas, Feasted by Women (literal) or Adored by Women (more to the point). Outside of being a war god, Aries was a god who punished and killed all rapists and would be rapists. To the point one of his main surviving hellanistic myths is how after a child of Poseidon assaulted his daughter, Aries slaughtered the boy and all his mortal loved ones. When put on trial almost all female Olympians testified for him, further cementing his role as the above. The moment he heard a single word of what those men were saying, he would have given Odysseus enough power to kill Zeus himself.

I don't thing Ares blessed Odysseus because it wasn't needed but I LOVE that you added him here! Especially during the line "channel the fire inside your soul" because it's a cry to harm the queen prince, but it's also a call for the 'reigning king of Ithaca' to defend his home & his family. I also like the idea that the viola is Penelope's cries & as a daughter of Sparta, Ares' city, she's crying out & not only does Ares hear her pleas, but her husband blessed by Ares & favored by Athena, is her to save her from such a fate. So while I don't think the blessing happened I love what the additional could represent. You did a great job!

Something I don't see people discussing is that when Antonius enters the room in the "imagination", Penelope is shocked for a moment before her face shifts into anger and she holds up what looked to be a knitting needle like a knife. WOOOOOOO saw this on Twitter and was physically shaking a little bit (still figuring out how to shower you with undying love and appreciation over there, bear with me. 😅) First off, LOVE your Antinuous design! I especially love how while Antinuous does big sweeping motions, keeping the room’s attention on him, Odysseus hardly moves at all except to cock and shoot his arrow. It really establishe who has the bark and who has the bite out of the two of them. Secondly, I think Ares intervening is the PERFECT addition here! This is EXACTLY his domain: bloodshed and carnage, one man taking on over a hundred foes with nothing but wits and primal instinct to guide him, all in the name of protecting his wife and homeland??? Perfection.

There is so much I want to say about this, first off, style? Imacculate, flawless, a work of beauty. Second, I love how you distributed the shots, by that I mean like how you made Ares's face exactly appear on the line: "here and now burn it down to ashes", 0:30 like Ares is saying it to Odysseus, to burn them all down right that second. 0:33 and THIS!! the line "channel the fire inside your soul", and Odysseus's eyes turn red. Because Odysseus is DOING that, he is channeling his anger that had been held in his soul for so long and he's going to use it to massacre all of the suitors there. Something I've heard from others is that you can actually hear Odysseus/Jorge singing with the Suitors during the final chorus, representing him hiding among them. What I really like about that concept is that it gives me the image of Odysseus singing the words "Hold them Down" repeatedly as he's actively stringing the bow none of them could string, and aiming it directly at Antinous' throat.

I love how the focus on Odysseus building rage and Aries blessing(almost looks like an invitation) actually changes the meaning and perspective of the lyrics. It describes the violence and anger Odysseus is about to tap into. Its a narrative shift i can really appreciate given how hard it is to watch visual representation of sa. We know what the suitors intend to do without showing it(no shade to animators that go that direction) so showing that reality set in with Odysseus is the more story progressing and less potentially triggering option. The story is about Odysseus perspective after all. It also gives the arrow shot at the end time to build anticipation. What is Odysseus going to do to protect his family? What can he do? Enter Aries. Beautifully done. It makes so much sense and is visually stunning. I feel what Odysseus feels in this moment. ❤

Ahh! This animatic is amazing! I love the fact you included Ares helping Odyssesus! I for one, always imagined it was Ares' aid that helped Ody during Six Hundred Strike. May be a lil crazy, but I swear during the beginning of Six Hundred Strike I hear Ares' motif on Odysseus instrument. Anyways love the animation! Keep up the good work!
