God bless Holden... I love the sound of supercharged Holdens. And the w427 is also a blessing, one of the few muscle cars left, with proper muscle displacement. I'd love to see Ford build a new Falcon Coupe GT or Cobra, doing it the old school way, just like they did with the Mustang a few years ago.

@mgrockman Remember that while the '06 GTO may feature an LS2, it was modified for Australian conditions, because it was designed, built and exported from Australia. The only differences between the GTO and its Australian parent, the Monaro were the bumpers, some trim bits, an exhaust, and left hand drive

Its an HSV Commodore. The Pontiac GTO is based on the lower spec SS commodore.

there is a lot of internal work that is being done to it as we speak ... we are being advised against those turbo's and told we would be better off with twin GT15/20's the guy doing the internals said it would hit back at around 850-900hp @ crank with twin GT35R's - the E series is a 3.6L and they dont have problems revving... i do mean 3 into 1, the 2 was a typo and i thought people would pick it up and fix it themselves without having to ask :)

look everyone thinks s/c is the answer to boost with no lag. you explained it well when you say a s/c can only turn as fast as the crank,this results in peak boost available ONLY at peak revs.on an ls1 i have seen turbo systems produce full boost at 2700 all the way to 6000rpm.all things being equal a s/c simply cannot match this response instead you just get a dull linear torque curve with peak torque occurring higher up the rev range.

sounds like you got a monster there! personally i'd love to have a go on an injection setup on that. but i also recognise the appeal of your twins sticking out the bonnet!plus your setup is much cheaper,+ you get the anti-social(sweet)sound that only through your carbs.please tell me thats not in a corty!

respect! i don't doubt how good this thing would go. have you driven an ls1 turbo though?with s/c you never get a sudden hit of torque. at 1500rpm what boost is it making offset against peak boost/revs. i would argue that at any revs above 1500rpm a turbo system would be able to add more psi at a greater rate than an equivelent s/c setup.

What? Do you really think they use the Ford Boss and Holden LS2 in V8 Supercars? They use either a 5.0 L Windsor SVO or Chevrolet Aurora. Both built in overseas to the same spec. All engines are limited to RPM not HP.

HSV - Holden special vehicles, this is an australian vehicle. Pontiac copied the model and renamed it. Both Pontiac and Holden is under GM

Also most HSV owners are embarrassed to be related to holden, they are a league above... so don't think because you drive a holden you can relate to HSV, as HSV can't demonstrate CSV =D

You didn't realize anything, drive a supercharged car like I do then you'll realize something. Yea the gas was cut and the tires were spinning, but it's not creating boost, THERE IS NO AIR MOVING IN THE SUPERCHARGER!!! Means no whine, do you expect a supercharged car in 4th on the freeway to whine while cruising.....no, no intake, no boost, NO WHINE!

haha considering they've designed a 515rwkw ford xr6 turbo... (not even an FPV) that is a joke. Also in perth they have a 1050hp HSV GTS... I wouldn't be bragging about this result, i though an SV6000 with a S/C would demolish until this =[

i can't believe people are still using superchargers on sweet motors like ls series. turbo/'s are a far more efficient and cost efective way of forced induction on these peaky v8's.supercharging has more lag than a similar matched turbo system. fact!
