That is cool hearing that big turbo spooling up and that car really torques up a lot when taking off looked like for a moment the whole side was going to lift up but did well for the maiden voyage down the track. clicking like on this one too.

So, as an American, I'm not used to seeing so many cars leave with that left side so much higher in the air than the right. Would I be correct in guessing that it's because the driver sits on the right and not the left? I mean, the cars here have to have stufft moved around to prevent just that but it's usually not that pronounced. Can it be corrected the same way, by just moving some ballast (battery, fuel cell and so forth) around in the car?

thats the way the engine is turning. the torque is causing the chassis to twist on the suspension its not so much to do with weight as torque. as far as whether the engine turns retrograde to that of an american car the same way the toilet does, i do not know lol the drivetrain must be mostly solid or at least very stiffly mounted to the chassis and the suspension is (i assume) stock.

jameswoodsist Well they pick up the LF corner here, too. It just doesn't seem to be as severe and I know I've seen where people have moved batteries and fuel cells and things around to even that out a bit and I didn't know if that extra ballast (the Driver) on the right side was causing the right side to pick up slower and less than the left side. Not that I have a problem with it. Just curiosity. Any groups of people that can drag race like that is okay in my book (Autralians, Puerto Ricans). I especially love watching the Aussie burnouts.

There are many videos of cars in the USA doing the same thing...its all to do with the stock coil GM suspension. Doesnt matter what side of the car you sit in, all the V8s turn in the same direction and lift the front left and right rear (engine tries to turn the diff in the opposite direction). Ive seen dozens of US wagons etc do the same...these cars are called sleepers for a reason...they dont look like race cars. good job I reckon.

Here, it's usually the right side that higher but not by so much. AT least that's what I've noticed. That's why I thought it might be something to do with the weight distribution being different with the driver on the other side of the car. Not that I have a problem with it. It's just curiosity.

GS315ish - Why am I watching these videos? Fair question, and I'll answer without using school-yard potty language, because I'm a 'grown-up'. This KZbin link was provided to me (without any, much less a detailed introduction) on a car-enthusiast site I frequent. I also happen to own an old Holden sedan - and I like modifying it to increase performance. So, I very much DO get the concept. I also know when it is stated "driven to the track" it doesn't in any way mean this HQ is remotely close to roadworthy standard, or would be acceptable to even the most ignorant copper out on the roads. I simply challenged the nuf-nuf status quo, by pointing out the completely bloody obvious. It takes that, sometimes, to shake a few synapses into action. Critical thinking - try using it one day, champ. Drag racing: it's like playing tennis with a bazooka. (Sorry, that similie might be lost on the knuckle-draggers who go all giggly or slack-jawed at the 'kn drags..!)
