The one thing I truely hated about VKs is definitely the shitty headlights as they always leaked and never gave enough light when out driving long distance. Solid car otherwise

The aftermarket ones suck too, leak straight away, get condensation and just look shit. LED globes help mildy, but make sure they fit inside because otherwise the rubber caps on the back don't go back on properly and you get condensation again. Higher amp alternator may help too?

LED globes overload the fuse panel and cause it to melt.

Kinda, since the emissions ratings changed in the vks I think the newer ones that got the emissions control would have a harder time. But If you just got it smog checked it would probably run clean enough anyway to get through rego
