Not too much work the vibrator, just kinda dip it in, I believe it causes the gravel to sink also. I’m terribly impressed you guys are doing so much yourselves!

Have you thought about getting some track mats , then next time you need to get the forklift or whatever somewhere you could just lay them out as a roadway. Can sort the access roads when things calm down and the build is finished.

Always heard when adding in rebar to twist it in, rather than just pushing it in. Supposedly means that the epoxy etc fills the spiral in the rebar better, rather than just being squeezed out.

Great stuff. Do you remember the dimensions of the timbers you used for your small shed in the old house. The one with the black metal roof

A diesel forward and reverse wacker would be a far better job Tim , far better compaction than the old Aldi special. Not cheap tho tbf . Loving watching the build

Try reversing up the slope at a bit of speed with a bit of ballast on always worked for me even on icy mornings 👌

Another big chunk of progress- well done Tim & team! What laser level are you using? I’m needing to upgrade mine but seems a lot of choice. Also- I can’t help but feel that the compaction depth of your whacker is going to be quite shallow compared to where you want it, especially with that polished interior concrete floor. I have the same whacker, and I’d trust it for patios, pathways and monoblock driveway but I’d be concerned for anything that needs to be heavier than that- are you finding that you are getting the compaction you need from careful layering with the small whacker?

Road roller coming in before we do the main prep. 👍 The laser is a Bosch but not the best for outdoor work in bright sunlight. Getting the job done though.

Just a quick note to say, don’t drive a forklift with forks pointing downhill, it’s a risk of tipping over, all way have forks pointing up when on a hill.

Be careful not to over vibrate. Will seriously weaken the top layer.

In the background in the field below the barn/house it looks as if there's a "circus tent"? - what's that about or is it my imagination?

Are you going to be pouring the floor slab yourself or are you subbing it out?
@TheRestorationCouple
@TheRestorationCouple 4 ай бұрын
Depends more on availability than anything. If the contractors we had quote can't do it for 8 weeks then may crack on ourselves but have budgeted to sub out.

Can't believe you filmed your dog having a leek! With regards to the slope, of you haha I think if you grass it you will struggle to cut it and keep it nice. I would suggest wild flowers and maybe some of the flowers that they use on green roofs for coverage, Nit sue itvthey are poisonous to animals so a little investigation maybe necessary.

It’s tough for most KZbinrs now. I went for YT premium, cancelled Spotify and use YT music that comes with premium. Beware if you try this as there is no going back. YT without ads is a wineries place😳

Invest in KZbin premium. I think I pay 20 GBP per month. That lets 5 separate Google accounts to have ad free videos. It really makes you tube an alternative to other services.
