See when you get 100% shares in the value of 80% shares then the profit of 20% you have made it is called capital reserve On the other hand in the case of minority interest you have purchased only 80% of shares and the rest 20% are on the other shareholders and they are called minority shareholders holders The difference is just what you have if you have 100% shares then it can be capital reserve case but if you have 80% shares no mater for that you have paid 100% share price or more you get only 80% And the rest shares shareholders are minority intrest
