As a 7th day Adventist we call it preparation day "it was the day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath" (Mark 15:42). Sabbath being Saturday is a day of rest so you do all the cleaning and cooking (Friday) to prepare for the day of rest( Saturday-Sabbath). I am fascinated by your community and the level of self-sufficiency its absolutely out of this century :) . Love from SudAfrika

Thank you Adina, please keep putting out great content. It is definitely an eye opener for me. As someone who grew up mennonite I always enjoy dealing with hutterite clients. Whether it was when I managed a movie theater or worked for Peavey Mart or even when I sold automotive parts. I will say Fort Pitt seems more progressive then some of the colonies. All in all they are all great people.

So disciplined but also so witty you make me laugh. My mom grew up with 11 siblings and they did it on Saturday before church on Sunday. My mom said they all got working morning til night cause whatever happened during the week stayed that way and if that meant jam on the ceiling so be it. Did I say my grandma was a single mom of 11kids ? My grandpa died of the black 🫁 lung for real and I am only 46 crazy eh I say to people black lung and they ask me if I was born in the 1900’s. So poor grandma let those kids tear it apart all week and nail it back together on Saturday. Holding Saturday! Sorry for the novel it’s just her videos get you going down memory lane.

At the group home we did deep cleaning on Saturday mornings. And we did morning and evening chores. It was hard because we had to wake up at 7 am every morning for meds, breakfast and chores. And then they wanted us out of the house, so I would walk down the street to spend time at the Tim Hortons, and I also volunteered at the library. I learned the Dewy Decimal system. The only good thing was we were on a routine. I try to keep a schedule. Monday deep clean the kitchen, Tuesday bath room, Wednesday living room and bedroom area (I live in a studio), and Thursday makeup day. What is that big building called and used for? I'm so intrigued by your life style. I was a Mormon for 10 years as a convert.

Hi Adina, I know German, I am from Switzerland. „Freitag halten“ is a Christian joke referring to „holding (keeping) the Sabath“ or „den Sonntag einhalten“which means NOT to work. So in a funny way you say when you hold fridays you work hard just as you do not work when you hold (keep) Sunday
