Holding Pattern Entry Tutorial in Microsoft Flight Simulator with Airline Pilot / Flight Instructor

Is there a reason we use the radial of the inbound leg, rather than just using the heading of the outbound? Is this because there are different holding pattern tracks? ie; non-racetrack? Thank you sir! You're video was very helpful.

It could be done the other way around, different parts of the world do this.
