I really like Hornady One Shot as a release agent. Also I mix in the micro balloons left over from an old bedrock kit into the epoxy.

Years ago I bought some ProBed2000, I made some tests before bedding my rifle : it wasn't hard enough after curing. Since I'm in Europe and I can't find the MarineTex which is said to be the best, I looked for the best specs on industrial epoxies. Now I've done 8 glass and pillar beddings with the Loctite 3471, very satisfied with it.

Should have used Marine-Tex to bed the stock IMO. I’ve had bad issues with Pro-Bed 2k in my guns. And if you look closely at the recoil lug area, you can see the darker and lighter color of the two stock fill materials. There were two reasons the recoil lug was getting damaged. The action fill material didn’t go far enough forward to cover the whole recoil lug portion, and the material used for the forend fill isn’t strong enough to be the recoil surface, that’s also why there was a slight void, it’s where the two materials met. The void didn’t help obviously, but the main issue was that the recoil lug fill wasn’t the correct fill material all the way across the face of the recess. Glad you were able to fix it, don’t forget to put a small bevel on the corner where the recoil lug is to facilitate removal without damage to bedding.

Thanks for the comment and insight. What sort of issue did Pro-Bed 2k give you?

Fclass Community Channel - Need More Ammo Productions Sorry for the delay in replying, been a busy start of the week. In 2 of the 3 stocks that were bedded with the 2k compound, I had issues with it powdering (breaking down due to compression pressure) in the recoil lug recess and allowing the action room to move under recoil after about 400-500 rounds. One was a 6.5GAP 4S, other was a 7mm SAUM both built on early Nesika actions. Granted, it’s a small sample, but they were bedded by two different smiths using new compound for each rifle about 2yrs apart. So the only variable to me in the equation that it could be was the compound. Once replaced with Marine-Tex, they both returned to shooting bugholes instead of stringing shots all over the place.

Hi I enjoyed watching your videos and I have a question where can I shoot long range of around 200 - 600 yards with a .270 on the lower mainland? Are crown land areas still available? I heard they changed their policies with long range shooting. Thank you.
@FclassCommunityCHL4 жыл бұрын
Yes crown land area are still available but make sure you check the Fraser Valley Hunting and Shooting boundary maps. Things are getting very sensitive with municipalities and shooting around municipal boundaries while on crownland. If I go onto crownland I'm usually 2 hours outside and at least several KMs onto the FSR.

@@FclassCommunityCHL thank you. Also, can I please get more information regarding your shooting competitions and how to get into it?

@@alexdurden2745 for various types of competition like three gun or PRS your club should have some info. If you're in BC please check the BC Rifle Association for Fclass, Target Rifle and PRS matches, schedule and championships.
