The block heater makes starting any diesel engine much easier in the winter months when the temps are low. It also lets the engine and cab heating warm much quicker too 👌👍

@@PSExcavationsLLC I've the same machine. Same engine but non turbo. It's a pig to start from cold. Chuggs like a steam train before firing but it's fine once warm. High speed starter fitted and the fuel system all cleaned out. The only exception being the cause on the injection pump is something I haven't touched. New lift pump fitted too. Would be interested in the spec of the heater you fitted and where you got it.

Hey Mark, Make sure your cold start is working properly, on mine, its above the turbo on the intake manifold, it has a wire and fuel pipe connected to it and when its cold (around zero) turn the ignition key to ignition, then the heat position before the starter, leave the heat on for about 20 seconds or so, this acivates the pre heat which warms the intake manifold. I bought my block heater from a U.S. supplier as I couldnt find one for the Perkins 1004-4 engine at the time. Easy to fit - just make sure you pull the correct core plug in the block! Makes a big difference, no need to pre heat and is better for the engine as most engine wear occurres when the engine is cold 👍

the video is good I also have the same backhoe loader I too have the crankshaft oil seal leaking a bit I know what to expect now Great clean job thank you for the oil seal reference

Where is hydraulic filter in this machine?

Hi, you will find the filter under the hood, attached to the fuel tank near to the filler. You will have to remove the metal engine cover and side panels to access the filter.

@@PSExcavationsLLC Thank you for your answer. I taught that it's located under cover we can see at 7'th second of your video just below "Super 3CX" label. I'm assuming that's something else?

@@wotfinowski The two round plates on the front under the 'super 3CX' decals are inspection plates to access the hyd tanks, for cleaning. The right hand inspection plate has the pick up for the power steering pump, this has a washable screen filter fitted to it. But yes the main hyd filter is up high on the fuel tank. Hyd filter JCB part number 581/06301

It's not something iv had to do on any of my machines, you may be better reading the forums or contact a JCB dealer to make sure you get the correct rebuild kit for your pump?
