My husband and I just had our Debit card hacked and before I was able to act on it with the bank, they were able to process 5 transactions to the total amount of $2,000. Luckily, I hope, we will get the money back because it was a Visa, but this amount of money, especially before Christmas, would have ruined many people. If these F'ers put this much effort into trying to make something instead of destroying people's lives imagine what they could do!

I don't understand why the banks have made it so easy for people to be able to use a card and only every 4 or 5 transactions it requires a pin number. I hope you get it sorted. I think the cyber fraud team in India is either non-existent or has been compromised to the point that bribes are more appealing than punishing scammers.

Best photo of the relationship between the Indian police and the scammers was a publicity shot when a couple of high level guys were busted. The cops and the scammers were HOLDING HANDS. No hand cuffs, just a friendly hand holding photo. "Yeah we got 'em". Rest assured, we're on the job. Your tax rupees at work. Minimal bail. Oh, and a couple of months later the guy who pocketed millions of dollars scamming, was fined a few hundred dollars and freed.

I really think this should be shown on television all over the world in many different languages. The horrible thing is that none of this makes sense. What they ask their victims to do is totally nonsensical so their only option is to prey on the most vulnerable. My mom is 81 and is super sharp, but I often wonder what she might fall prey to without my dad and me. She's just not technologically aware. But asking someone to leave the house and get gift cards? It doesn't even make sense and is beyond heinous.
