It sounds like an aico smoke Alarm I’m an Electrician if it is you need to push a screwdriver into the slot in side of smoke alarm and then push and slide it off 👍🏻🤜🏻 hope this helps 👍🏻🤙🏻

When that happened to my smoke detector it was due to faulty wiring not the batteries dying and I had to get the whole thing replaced. That noise would drive anyone insane so I hope you get it sorted out soon!

Just press the button on the smoke alarm and it will go off but it should make it stop beeping for about 12 hours to let you sleep. You will only be able to press it so many times until it will keep beeping. Generally beeps more at night because the temperature drops so the battery thinks it has less battery. In regards to taking it off to replace the battery’s, depending on the alarm you might not be able to. The ones I installed you have to replace the entire alarm. But if you can, you might have to twist the alarm. If you’re still struggling contact your local fire service and they might have a prevention team who can come and sort it out for you (likely for a cost as you will be in the ‘low risk’ category (hopefully). That’s how we work in Merseyside anyway....

You need to poke something in the wee clip to hold it in while you twist the smoke alarm off mine does the same so if you get them open change any other batteries in any other smoke alarms at the same time cus they usually go at the same time hope that helps love Sarah x
