As a tech who has been in the industry for nearly 30 years..., i appreciate your video Sorin, I have used JB Weld etc and these have failed pretty quickly. I a lot of physical repairs, but the process you use with the hot glue works really well...the trick is the not the glue but how its applied...like everything, if the process is not done correctly it will probably not give the result you want, but i have found the extra heating step and heating up the metal etc really works...although in this case, i wouldve replaced the hinges and used glue on the bottom of the chassis, but there is a cost and time restriction to some repairs and i understand those reasons.

You can take out the screen. It has some glue strips on the left and right and on this model you can pull them from the bottom of the screen. They are like the ones under the battery in iPhone.

And also instead of hot air, you can use Isopropyl alcohol to loosen up the front bezel. Takes a bit longer, but there is less stress/damage on the bezel.

Sorin - I love to watch you working. When I see you working it look like so easy. I wonder about this fixing laptop - I did not saw a camera cable - someone probably cut it before you got the laptop - Am I right ?
@tarek30062 жыл бұрын
Hi there, no actually this is one of the models that got the camera cable wrapped with the screen cable at the bottom of the screen after the camera cable went around the screen or some other cases just flat cable under the screen.. But here you can see its around the screen... The wrap them together sometimes mayeb to strengthen the screen cable or just for better cable management... Anyway no worries it was not cut 😊 but nice attention.. Keep it up bro

The screen on these HP laptops are usualy taped to the back much like the batteries in Iphones. You just have to locate the pull tabs. I did that on an HP Pavilion 14 bf model last year.
