When you break down Layers, it literally has layers, there are multiple beat changes, flow switches and different drum patterns. Also there are so many times throughout this song where Nate will say a line, and itll run into the next, such as ''put my hands together, bow - my head and thank the lord for - everything he' done yeah'' and ''i wish it was, but I've come - so far so quickly'' and then theres also layers of repeated words that sound the same like rubble, struggle, muzzled, bubble, huddle, juggle, aswell as the repeated questions when the beat changes. @@Apol-los If I know one thing about Em, it's that he likes being challenged, he likes proving people wrong. He's a rebel. Someone tells him he can't do something, he'll do whatever it is and even take it to a higher level to shove it in peoples faces and make them stop talking. If there ever was a feature I would think that he should take up the challenge of dropping a verse without cursing. It's harder than you think. Stepping out of your comfort zone, trying something different to what you're used to and what's easy to do. I wouldn't mind the swearing if he did, but I'd be hella impressed if he would do it without it.

I just figured it out. Why NF's music sounds like he built the music track around how he wanted his lyrics to sound and it fits perfectly, it's cause in "music" either the bass or the drums "carries" the melody. NF uses the cadence and rhyme scheme to hold the song together. When the beat drops out you can still count "1-2-3-4-1-......) and feel the tempo. And usually he writes in versions of a 4-count syllable rhyme scheme. 4 per count, 8 per count, 16 syllables per count.....
