I've always liked that Holland America has done most of the serving, even pre-Covid. It does help keep things sanitary and I'm sure it even helps a bit with food waste. 👍

Totally agree! Normally we won't the uncooked salad on a cruise buffet, but HAL is one of the few exceptions.

@@TravelTouristVideos Yes, fresh fruits and vegetables are the most dangerous things to eat because of cross contamination. They fruits and vegetables looked very nice but I always worry that it was not washed properly. The food sickness you get from contaminated fruits and vegetables can manifest in as little as 4 hours.

I enjoy hearing you say "Hi" it sounds like you are smiling when you talk to us, it's very pleasant. You have a very nice "radio" voice as we used to call it in my younger days. You would make an excellent narrator for all kinds of videos, commercials and narrating digital books.

I had the congee nearly every day on the April Rotterdam TA cruise. It was my goto and the staff in Club Orange gave me some of "the good stuff" sambal they love. Perfect combo.

Returned yesterday from a Royal Caribbean cruise in the Mediterranean. This breakfast spread looks so much better! Can't wait to go on my trans-Atlantic next April on HAL's Rotterdam.

Hi there. I love watching your cruise food videos? How does the food on royal Caribbean compare to the food on Holland America? I saw some videos of the royal Caribbean breakfast food items and it looks so so-so. Which cruise line has better food? Have you tried Cunard food?

I was just on a Holland America ship (the Volendam) and can attest their sticky buns are pure addictive crack. Also not pictured - they have almond milk!

I think that Holland America just has a much more comfortable dinning experience due to the lower cabin occupancy levels vs Royal or Carnival who have a much higher number of kids per cabin.

Yup definitely fewer kids on HAL for sure, though for our 2 cruises in July 2023 the ship was pretty much full, and the buffet can get very busy.

I'd rather dish up my own food because I tend to take very small portions of multiple things. We are sailing HA for the first time in July so we'll see how it goes

How does it work for "speciality" coffees such as Lattes please - will we need a drinks package for these ...?

Yes if you have a drinks package it's covered, or you can just pay by the current pricing for the specialty coffees (usually $3.50 to $5).

We saw Sweet N'Low & Equal, but don't remember seeing stevia. They might have some in the back if you ask for it, but if you need it it might be a good idea to bring some with you.
