Another great video. Honestly, I have never seen most of those items on prior HAL cruises. I really liked the steak tartare with the quail egg. That looks like more of a German presentation (hackepeter) than the standard cruise ship presentation. We are taking a 14 day cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam in September but I think that we will see the same 7 day menu twice as most people will be on the ship for 7 days.

I really enjoyed this. Certainly can't think of anything here I would refuse. I've only done 5-8 day cruises so far in my relatively short cruising history. If the culinary adventure looks like this on a 10+ day cruise with HAL or Princess, then I know I would be very happy. The Nieuw Statendam looks like a very elegant ship, rather than resort-style, so I would expect the included food to be pretty well top notch. As I've told you before, I'll be on the Koningssdam for a 7-night voyage to Alaska this coming April. It's only 7-nights, and it's not an ultra exotic destination, but I am excited to try out a cruise line I've never sailed on before. Because It's a destination I've already been to, I plan on spending the majority of the time relaxing in the spa, or doing other onboard activities. I just want to take the time to enjoy the ship itself. If things go like I plan, I may then decide to book a repositioning cruise. I don't need a bunch of fancy port days or nice weather to enjoy being on a cruise ship. Give me stormy weather, choppy seas, zero shows, inconvenient one-way flights, and nonstop sea days - but *DON'T* skimp on the good food. 😁 Scott

We like when your wife gives the food review talks. We've noticed a few buffet videos lately just have music and we miss seeing her give 1 or 2 thumbs up, or no, I don't like that one very much, won't get it again. We appreciate the feedback, but we think she is so small that she must be passing the plates to your son to finish, LOL!

Everything looked good! I’m very impressed with HAL’s menus and presentation. I had to watch this video with the closed captioning on and OMG some it was pretty funny in the translation department, especially when Joann was enjoying the Crispy Crab Roll at 4:21. 😂

I'm a big eater, so I think I would have had at least to entrees with each dinner. I liked the looks of the Beef Wellington and I probably would have had a steak, too! 🙂

Such pretty plating. I thought the panko crusted tuna was interesting. I have never thought to put panko crust on a tuna steak, I want to try that. Great video as always!
