@@MathersOnTheMap It was great, but obviously it was breezy out there. Out of the 5 times that I went to Alaska, it was my second time when I was on Nieuw Amsterdam.

It looks like it was recently renovated. We love enjoying the spa services for the sauna and hot tubs. I love doing the boat tours, they usually do pretty well. Even for my small channel I am seeing good views. New cruisers have the hardest time figuring out which way they are going. Some ships have tables on the back of the ship. It’s nice to have breakfast looking at the sea. Amy and I do like sitting down in the dining room for breakfast if we have time. On early mornings we typically get room service to get out fast. Great tour fam. Norwegian has that balance and it has a bit of all ages but most cruises are between 30 and 50 😊

Glad to hear these do well for you guys! We’ll see how it does for us. Unfortunately this is an older ship, so maybe I should change the title to renovated Nieuw Amsterdam tour haha always tweaking! That’s the one thing I really don’t like about cruising the times, creates stress for me

@ for sure because I think a lot of people will book a cruise and then watch some videos about what’s onboard or when they are picking a ship. We have seen a lot of Hollander ships port with us and they always look very nice. What did you mean about cruising times? Do you mean it’s to early?

Hi guys This may just be picky but since you’re going to get a boat in the future. The front of the ship is called the bow and the back of the ship is called the aft. And yes, it is called a ship. Always remember that a boat will fit inside a ship, but a ship will never fit inside a boat. So that you are cruising on a ship, not a boat.

hey Holly, we're working on it!!! We figured most people cruising aren't into boating so it would be easier to just call it front/back for the general audience. But great tip on the boat will fit inside a ship reference. We're hoping to get an aft cabin for our adventure 😊

Also after some research, royal definitely looks more lively and our speed haha. Had we not gotten the deal with Holland I’m sure we would have chosen a different cruise line. But hey it worked for our first one!

So, not sure why you would bring an infant on a premier cruise line such as HAL??? It is not particularly known for accomodating small children. Perhaps Carnival might be more suitable for your needs?

Shame on you for scaring people so much about ship motion. It’s minor. And you’re not supposed to run on the Promenade deck. Signs everywhere saying that. There’s a running track on an upper deck.

I don’t think we scared anyone by our video. We had 2-4 meter seas the entire trip (November cruise is still hurricane season) the ship definitely moves and you can feel it. I wasn’t aware running wasn’t allowed on deck 3 either. Which deck is the running track? I did not notice one when did the tour.
