I am a shade-tree mechanic with NO experience rebuilding carbs. My Holley 4160 decided it wanted to leak badly from the accelerator pump today so I pulled it off the car and ordered the rebuild kit. I am going to try rebuilding it myself tomorrow so I searched for videos. Thank you for posting this because it has already taught me a lot. I will watch Part 2 in hopes of becoming an "expert" LOL.

I know Holly carbs pretty damn good. One thing I highly recommend is pay the money and get your rebuild kit from Holley. There are plenty of after market carb kits out there but they simply do not compare to what you get from Holley. If it's an old carb it most likely has a 2 stage power valve. Them are no longer used and are now single stage. Holley kits will have a few power valves and a chart to show which one to use. The kits contain all new c-clips, e-clips and all gaskets and there a lot of them.

*BROOM* $100 for a rebuild kit? Jesus fucking Christ. I found one at a garage sale for $15, I'm sure glad it's a 3310-2. I've been running a 2 BBL for about six years. I think once I find a good manifold, it's time to get this thing on the 'Velle. These videos are an enormous help, thanks, man.

my truck has a 4180c ford Holley, I purchased a remanufactured carburetor from summit. it is a piece of junk. i had issues from the get go. so I am looking into rebuilding carburetors myself. all issues you point out on used carbs is the reason I like buying new just for no hassles. but I am on a budget. I worked on mostly ford 2 barrel carbs.

I bought a decent one on Craigslist for $100. The model number shows 3310-4 with a second line of 3477. It has no prefix like LIST that yours shows before 3310-4. Does that mean it is a factory carb? I do know it needs a rebuild kit because I threw it on my Chevy truck to test it out and it was leaking badly from the accelerator pump. Also the bowl screws were loose so I know it was messed with. And here's another question: why do the dual inlet chrome fuel line only thread in maybe three quarters of a full turn? Leaked badly. Need to find a better dual feed line what would you recommend? Thanks for the videos its been a great help.

I bought a 750 vacuum secondary demon carb & found the base plate was broken. I dont know what I need to buy for a replacement base plate? As for now it's just money down the drain. I'm willing to invest more money to fix it. I know I will end up upsidown on this thing. But I want to use it & im in this far already. It's just time & money I guess.

Like an idiot i saw another persons video and drilled holes in the secondary butterflies, do you think jb weld will stay put in there lmk, 4160 750 vac 2nd
@NightWrencher4 жыл бұрын
Unless you have a gigantic, and I mean enormous cam, you should never need to drill out your secondaries. Ever. You can close it up by poping a rivit in there. If you put jb weld it could flake off and fall in your engine.
