My carb has the same style of block as the 4150 shown, with one inlet per block, but it only has one metering block towards the front, is it a 4160 ?

Hey guys, I have a 1988 C70 Dump Truck with a Chevy 366 Truck Motor. The carburetor is a 4152 EG carb. Do you know of any videos on that carb? I'm going to rebuild the carb soon, but, I can't find too much info on the carburetor or the governor attached to it. Also, a lot of Holley carb videos on KZbin talk about adjusting float levels....but this carb has a hose that connects the front float bowl to the rear bowl in place of where the float adjustment nut and screw is supposed to be. What a strange beast!! Please direct me to any possible rebuild videos on that particular carb. Thanks guys!!

HELP: The id number on my Holley is (First line: FR) (Second line: 80457-8) (Third line: 2422) What do these numbers tell me? What rebuild kit do I need for this?
@HolleyPerformance8 жыл бұрын
"FR" refers to the carb being a (factory refurbished unit)80457-8 (600 cfm carb with electric choke and vacuum secondary)2422 is the date code (looks like it was built in Augut of 1992 , 2002, or 2012)

Check for vacuum leaks around the base gasket, or possibly a vacuum port that either needs a plug or has a split or crack in the rubber hose coming from it. J

Okay I have a question and I thank you in advance, my V8 460 7.5 has a 4160 installed and works fine but it is well aged and has some cosmetic issues so I’m considering replacing, so i go to Jegs and it’s recommending a 4150 Avenger series Carb some connections are different but would I be able to install this carb over the 4160?? I don’t know
@JMazterV1126 жыл бұрын
Also to add the 4160 is a 600 CFM and the Avenger 4150 is a 770CFM

A couple of things first. What is this carb / engine in? (Car, truck, rv, race car???) Does it have an aftermarket cam, intake, headers or any other mods? What is the maximum rpm's you expect to turn? Are you looking for the easiest swap or more performance minded? Sorry for all the ?? But it will help me get you what you want and will work for your set-up. Thx J

HolleyPerformance hey it’s totally fine :) I have it installed on a 1976 Ford LTD Landau, it has a stock cam and the manifold is also stock the transmission is a C6 and well it’s still a project car everything runs good just some parts are going to be needing replaced because of its age so say in the event I buy a new carb I’d buy a new manifold as well and competition fuel pump which is mechanical, it’s very barebones but the current 4160 has a stripped bolt near the upper body which is mostly the reason I’m considering a replacement

HolleyPerformance also to add I want that baby to hit around 6800 RPM and I will be adding headers soon
@HolleyPerformance6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about turning 6800 rpm's with a stock crank, rods, and heads? I'm going to be a little conservative at 5800-6000 with the stock valvetrain. I've seen them turn 7k but that was with an aftermarket rotating assembly and extensive valvetrain work. All things considered with your info and future upgrades you plan, I'd stick to a 750 or 770 cfm carb with vacuum secondaries because of the weight of the car and the auto trans. We have a lot of options in this category with and without electric chokes. Here are a few options, www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetors/parts/BR-67258 www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetors/parts/0-83770 www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetors/parts/0-86770HB but feel free to visit our website and check them out for yourself!! www.holley.com thx, J

According to this I have a 4160 someone converted to dual feed, is this going to work?
@HolleyPerformance8 жыл бұрын
It is possible to do, but It is had to tell without any more info or pics of your unit.
@amazeddude17805 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have done this. You can buy conversion kits from Holley. I was able to pick up junk carburetors from a speed shop and got all kinds of spare parts including Reo pumps, different throttle curve plastic cams, etc

Now I am more confused than ever. Mine looks like the 4150 but only has 1 metering block like a 4160, but the narrator says the 4150 has dual fuel inlets, one to each bowl.
@grantsdad982 ай бұрын
Is your carb new? Some 20 years ago I replaced the fuel bowls on a 4160 with those from a 4150. I wanted the center-hung floats.
