I need to know if the ECU on the throttle body has the ability to pull out timing under boost. I can't get a straight answer from Holley tech support. According to this video, the timing curves from the ECU are either time based or RPM. You HAVE to pull timing out UNDER BOOST. So, do you have to run an MSD boost controlled ignition box to do all the timing or can the ECU in the throttle body pull out timing under boost via the MAP sensor that it has ? WHO THE HELL CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION ? Apparently NOT Holley tech support. And ya want me to spend $2k on it without knowing ? WTF.....

You DON'T have to pull timing under boost. I run 12psi locked at 28 degrees on my roots blown Camaro.

And ill also add, since engine wear happens exponentially the colder it is from operating temperature, isnt it good practice to warm it up whether or not you can instantly drive with these efi setups..? That to ME makes that merketing bullet point moot..

Im confused by this. Holley is and always has been a carburettor manufacturer... this guy representing holley talks about hard starting issues and driveability issues with carbs etc in trying to convince us to buy this.. Is this an open admission from holley theyve been knowingly selling us crap all these years..? I mean.... are they saying “maan, we’re sorry our carbs suck like the rest of them. Even though we continue to sell them you should buy this instead” or “oh not our carbs, ours wont give you those issues, we meant the OTHER carb manufacturers products.... so in conclusion, we make great carbs AND great efi....in which case ... theres ahh..... not MUCH point going for this over one of our regular carbs..i guess” Which is it..? And why do people ALWAYS overblow the “issues” carbs give while talking about efi, when billions upon billions were made and functioned perfectly well untill recently? Now all of a sudden theyre shit..? What are all these end users doing to mess them up so bad? Im no carb guru and ive NEVER had cold starting, bad running issues etc etc... Why not just learn to dial in a carb? The money youll save buys a-LOT of kfc..

Sounds like a lot of projection on your part. A carb is easier and cheaper to work with, but efi gives you better fuel economy, more power, more predictability in your tune, ect. Carbs work, just not as good as EFI.

It dosent really matter who you think is best for the job, the fact that this is what you take away from this video as well as putting him down in the process knowing that he has some sort of "speech problem" (according to you) is downright rude and disrespectful. If it bothers you that much please pack your bags and exit stage left.
