It’s the latest installment in the big block Coronet highway cruiser build at Rocket Restorations. The aftermarket components are slowly blending into the car, hopefully creating a seamless and high quality finished product (as opposed to a disorganized mess that even NASA technicians wouldn’t understand.) ‪@rocketresto‬

Really clean instalation. If you want modern car functionality, you need modern car systems. I was unaware of new copies of the factory assembly manuals were available- neat thing to have!.

Ugh, CAN bus. You're amazing. I just can't bring myself to do it. I don't think carbs are better, but I can work on them. Happy New Year!

No I’m with you. Lol. For the most part I prefer to stick to carbs in my universe. They may not be “better,” but they are absolutely easier, and have fewer things to break. I’ve also had problems with the Sniper specifically. I’m just putting together components someone else selected - and trying to do a nice job with it.

I'd love to see how the in-house Summit or Jegs injection systems stack up to the "name brand" stuff. I know my brother in law has a Sniper that he's had nothing but issues with. He's also one of those car guys that barely drives his truck, pretty sure that's the cause of his problems. And a happy new year to you and the family!

I’ve had some annoying times with snipers too. Have no experience with Summit or jegs systems. I wonder who makes them. Happy new year to you!

I am currently installing the sniper stealth on my 440 in my 69 charger with the silversport a41. Did you figure out how to connect the two to use the tps on the Holley? Thanks!
@DeadDodgeGarage
@DeadDodgeGarage Жыл бұрын
Yeah… don’t. Use the separate TPS kit. It turns out Holley systems are weird. It doesn’t use a standard CAN protocol so the two modules can’t communicate (which I only learned after buying an adapter and wiring them together,) and they don’t want you to jump the reading off of the TPS on the sniper either, because it gets grumpy about little variations in resistance on that circuit. This was a pretty big disappointment for me. I will cover the install I ended up doing in the next update.

any chance you could do a little show & tell on youre AC compressor? im trying to adapt an 80s chrysler truck compressor onto an RB big block.

This car is with its owner so I won’t have a chance to do that. The kit we used came from Classic Auto Air, and they supplied everything to make it fit. We did have to trim the AC lines and have them crimped.

Hi Jamie. Did you ever finish this car with the A41? I'm installing a G3 with an A41 as well and was curious how this one turned out. Thanks!

Yes we did, but I never got to do a wrap up episode. The car is coming back for some fixes, so I will try to do that when it’s here.

I know the Holley Sniper and other systems work good when set up right but call me old school it just seems to me the more complex the systems the more that can go wrong. So i guess I'm showing my age but I'll stick with old fashion carbs.

Completely agree with you. I made the same decision for my Charger. The Edelbrock works great, and it doesn’t seem worth it to me to swap to the Atomic kit I have. I really doubt it will get be much better fuel economy or cold starting than I already have.

Can you please talk about the big block MOPAR and 4l60e combo? No one talks much about how to do it for a decent price.
@DeadDodgeGarage
@DeadDodgeGarage 6 ай бұрын
I don’t think there is such a thing as doing it for a decent price. There’s the Silversport kit - around $6000 last I checked - and that’s pretty much it. I talked about it in these coronet videos a bit, but I couldn’t point to which one had the most info specifically.

This is one of the cleanest sniper installs I've seen, nice work. I watched the test drive video on the car a couple days ago, it looks like it turned out great. I had planned on using a sniper on the Gen 1 HEMI for my current project car.....after spending too much time on the forums there seems to be a lot more guys swearing at them than swearing by them. They also seem to be pretty susceptible spurious electronic emissions from things like the distributor and plug wires. I decided to change directions a bit and just go with dual quads and a pair of AVS2s. At least the only thing I'll need to feel comfortable on long road trips will be a couple of spare needle and seats in the "just in case box". Having just gone thru the trans tunnel mods to fit a 46RH in a Valiant the 4l60e looks interesting.....maybe next project.
