If holley was smart. They would make sure all new systems have newest updates BEFORE they send them out.

See you posted a year ago, wonder if such has been done yet?? Most of these companies use the customers as R&D unfortunately, HOWELL EFI uses the proven GM parts that were proven many years ago, no hit & miss like with new kids on the block

I like how you didn't mention that s***** ass O2 sensor ... Warm the vehicle up with an old O2 sensor that's not plugged in once the vehicle is warm then plug in the 125$ O2 sensor that's supplied.. let's not talk about that though

Recently began to set my timing on my 1972 camaro 383 stroker hei distributor. No start at all just cranking. I checked all wires and everything seems good. I have air, fuel, and spark but no fire up. Could this be a bad ecu?

It's great you are running the spacer to eliminate the Holley Sniper squeal/whistle/howl under load. For everyone else, the Holley part # is "HO 520-2".

Mine starts clean for 2 seconds and stalls with no fuel pump running. But runs to prime , shuts off and then nothing after start up ?

If you have to probe wiring through the insulation, use a sewing needle or safety pin to puncture instead of the test light tip. Much less damage to the wire.

by piercing wires you open passage for water intrusion and then hidden corrosion/high resistance

@@metaxa715 That's what tape is for, or a dab of super glue or use a glue gun & put a dab, that way the location is marked if you need to probe again

Hello I have a Holley Sniper EFI 550-510 which I installed on my 67 Mustang. Ran good all summer last year. This year when I started the car after its winter sleep it started well for its first ride and midway the display started to act up and the car all of a sudden started to run very bad and thick black smoke as if too rich. Now when I start the car the display only blinks but won't turn on and stays (blank) white. Is there a way to remove activate the display? Thanking you in advance

Sniper 2 and hyperspark ignition: The car starts rough and then stalls if I press the gas pedal. Grounds are good Initial start up wizard complete 15 degrees of start up advance set Verified fuel

car was already running pretty good except after running would have hard start so I purchased the 2300 in hopes to eliminate this problem once and for all. Installed the kit and followed the instructions word for word and tried to start. everything was as it should when key is turned on and pump cycled for 5 seconds but the engine turns over, starts for 2 seconds and shuts off. try and try again and same thing, only way to keep it running is the pump the peddle and keep it over 2000 rpms and if not then stall. messing with it for 3 days and no go, and can not find anything on line to help with this issue. so far not impressed and Holley tech has been no help with recommending to check timing and plug wired even though the car ran before the install.

IT RUNS. My lovely wife tired of my profanity directed towards”all things electronic” . She correctly overwrote the programs and installed. Car started after 2 priming shots. Ran until water was 185 . Engine has started to noticeably improve. Now.....get ready for It ..........the timing has issues . Teck support. Or Where is that redhead.

idle is too rich. set idle afr to 14.4. OR EFI can't fix and already dead engine.

Any idea what would cause a no spark I have 12 volts going to the CD ignition box for the hyperspark ignition system and 3 volts going to the ignition coils while the car is in the on position

I have a problem. The Pink wire. What does it Not do, if it dont have 12V on cranking? I swapped my '73 Nova wiring to Painless harness, and i couldn't find a wire wich have 12V on cranking.. Help!

I am having a issue with my sniper. Been on for a while and fine. But the other day I went to start it and accidentally bumped the throttle during startup and now it won’t start. I have tried resetting. And I have tried to restart. The injectors are getting fuel pressure to them, just not being told to fire. I am leaning towards a bad TPS. What should the sensor OHM at idle? And WOT?

The problem I had with my setup was the the idle was super high...like 1200 rpm. I thought I had a vacuum leak or something equally complicated (maybe I need a spacer below the throttle body, how's my timing) but it turned out that the idle speed screw was cranked in too far. The instructions never even mentioned the idle screw and I only figured it out by consulting some random guy on KZbin's home video. It would be a really good idea for you guys to beef up that section of the instructions. I really expected that issue to be covered in this video as well.

THANK YOU for bringing this up, ONE of the reasons I HAVEN'T went to a system like this is all the nightmares I've read about, HOPEFULLY after the number of years these systems have been out there is a complete video addressing ALL the potential issues that has been encountered

Beware of investing a penny in a combustion car!!!! Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. "Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbot" in German.

Swap to the HOWELL EFI system, it uses the proven GM parts, all off the shelf stuff, computer takes care of all that stuff.

@@laurawilliams9691 yes. Avionics by trade. New screen fixed issue. Nil refund on new part. I don't use holley anymore due to not receiving $500 refund for faulty part.

Thank you for the detailed video. I am not getting TPS to the required number (85%). It stays at 0. My fuel pump turns on when the ignition is on but shuts after 15 seconds. This happens every time. Any suggestions?

I’ve got an issue with my monitor saying it can’t connect to the ecu, I’ve called Holley and they were no help. Any ideas?

I have taken to referring to my sniper to mates as the stall-o-matic 3000. It refuses to learn idle it hunts up and down for around 50 seconds till it can choke or lean out the idle and stall

How come it is advertised as a carb conversion kit that you don't need a laptop and tuning skills to use and then few pages into the manual - for best results initial fuel table needs to be created on your pc not to mention same thing with holley sniper dual sync distributor that should be used after initial learn is done . Set it to 50 BTDC and then check rotor phasing? then why You set your initial angle? what for? it should be exactly set right from the box! and the best joke is when instructions say to cut hole in your cap to see where rotor is.....Would be nice to set engine to 50BTDC set dist as LED on off on and then hit cal on the handheld......ps my sniper efi just died ..... 5 months later update- i know personally four people that bought new snipers efi and they were faulty from the box or never worked properly. All of them had floding issues. RFI were not an issue. all wiring was neat freak . new ignition system that was "quality" brand . wires,spark plugs distributors you name it. Sniper EFI is a junk and if you respect your money do not buy that crap. All i heard and experienced on my own was highly dissapointing to say the least. Pinched wires under covers that contain ECU are common. Then mystery RFI i think it is only a childish excuse to get you occupied with fighting an invisible problem. Problem is in Your ECU which is getting screaming hot by sitting on top of your engine under the hood. Another BS is story about self learning. If that thing can learn to all yopur mods you installed why it can't tell You what the problem is? is that pile of junk is capable of recognizing engine is running like a bag of crap ? My sales guy told me that you indicate what camshaft you have and then it is doing self tune. So when i press throttle and AFR is fucking up to 32 why that fucking usseles pile of junk can't see that ? download the app and buy a cable and then what ? if that fucking thing can't reverse changes it made why da heck i should help it if you (holley) say it as a self tuning ? You should have lifetime warranty for that pile of scrap metal just so people can make you busy with your great product. I'll take mine apart and if i will find pinched wires or some other abnormalities it goes on the display and i will take it to every car show in my area to show people your junk. Another question is- if you build your engine and collect all bits and pieces over the time is there any chance to have some confidence that it will be good when it comes to firing your engine ? i mean i don't have to start using it from the day i purchased it ....... what then ? i am out of the warranty ?

My cousin has a Sniper on his 1970 442 and he said his display screen has been turning red and the engine starts dying when the RPM's are dropping. Neither of us can find anything online for that kind of error. Any suggestions?

My issue after install is after the engine starts, I get a physical wall in the throttle at about 20% throttle. If I push through it I jump to about 70% throttle. While fun tearing down the road it makes my neighbors pretty upset. With the engine off and powered down the throttle moves all the way to the floor with no catch and the butterflies open normally.

That is a vacuum issue weve had it happen before on installs we do where engine vacuum is holding the butterfly's closed at idle due to a low idle speed. We corrected it by bumping the idle up by opening the butterfly plates some. For my personal teuck if it happens I found there is a aftermarket linkage extension that adds about a inch to the throttle position on the theottlebody which will allow for more leverage.

@@REVNUMANEWBERN, there is a fix, Holley had it for a while now. It is a throttle lever extension. It bolts on and lengthens the cable attachment point further out from the throttle shaft. This gives more mechanical leverage and makes the throttle silky smooth. All the vehicles we did before I found out about the lever at work, I called up and had them bring their cars back into the shop to correct the issue for them. The Holley 4150 Stealth I have on my engine for my truck has the lever extension on it from the day I bought it. The part number for this Holley extension is 20-16 if you want to pick one up.
