Fresh and Delicious, Love how the bass sound compact with the drums.Very Dubby....the keys are insane and the guitar is so 99. Respect.

As a reggae musician,I both love and dislike the drummer.. it’s not supposed to be an open snare, however the drummer is one of the standouts. All musicians are excellent at their individual parts, her vocals are amazing as always. And the harmonies are a nice touch.. I think if the drum and bass were going to be put up that high in the mix, the keys and vocals could’ve been a bit higher as well. Just me though

Appreciate the positive feedback. Curious to what you mean about the snare? (Do you mean the record is a rimshot rather than snare hit?) In fairness to the KCRW team they have a job to do which is accommodate live bands daily, and their team have to get the best sound possible for the radio. The heavyweight reggae vibe doesn't come across very well on these internet stream recordings. You don't feel the bass and drums, and there isnt much to any reverb or echo being dubbed live which is a big element in the live show. Saying that they were very welcoming, it's just a hard genre of music to get across online sometimes as you really wanna feel the weight of the low end.

So right. Amazingly brilliant track and artists, but considering the vocals and the band it sounded a little disjointed.

Too much drum, it overwhelms her voice and the song.

Yes, I think so too. This version is still my favorite one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXjSi4Guo9Z_prM

Very nice, thank you!

You could say it’s a bit high, however you could also argue her vocals are too low

@Jaime Tarin Not sure. I'm guessing that band from KEXP was a local one, not associated to Hollie.
