Brava, Hollie! I'm American so no way was QE2 my grandma, or even a distant relative. I think it's safe to say she didn't even make her own grandchildren cherry almond cake. But she was several people's Gran, and they love and miss her. I love and miss mine, who toasted cinnamon buns and slathered them with butter for us, and gave us our first coffee with lots of sugar and milk. And sent the sugar buzzed caffeinated children out back to play in the shade of the pecan tree. Her, I do miss her even now.

Good stuff, Hollie. However, both my grandmothers behaved as though they were queens.....and that I was some inferior being to kiss their feet!
