I disagree, Sam. I don't think this guy needed any "grooming", and I doubt that any grooming took place. When I was 18/19 I was in a "secret relationship" with a 28 year old police officer. At the time, the age of consent was 21 for gay men. Had it ever come out about us, I imagine he'd have lost his job, lost his career, and it would've been "scandalous". He'd probably have been accused of taking advantage of a "child". Trust me, I knew exactly what I was doing, and there was nothing scandalous about it. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. 33 years later, we're still in touch, he's happily married (to a guy), and I still have fond memories of our "secret affair". Sounds to me like this "innocent victim" of Schofield's turned into a bit of a psycho ex...threatening to sell his story to the papers, etc. I'm not defending Schofield...I don't know him/don't know what went on between them, maybe he treated the guy badly (ie. dumped him?), but that doesn't really justify threatening to expose PS in the papers. That said, I did meet Schofe's "bff" many years ago (who absolutely shot me down in flames when I asked if Phillip was gay...lol...was the lamest denial I've ever witnessed!) and he, the bff, was an absolute TWAT. Also gay, seemed to mostly hire young, gay staff members, and I did wonder what sort of person would want to be "bff's" with someone like him. Well, Phillip Schofield, apparently. I do think the affair between PS and MM was very poor judgement, but not much more than that. Everyone who's saying what a great guy MM is...well, threatening to go to the papers sounds like blackmail/extortion to me! Neither of them sound particularly nice. Originally This Morning was presented by Richard and Judy, who of course were married. This formula was very successful, as with Eamon and Ruth a married couple, both couple’s relationships were genuine, and they were also good journalists. ITV attempted to re-create the same appearance of genuine chemistry between Phillip and Holly, this of course was obviously fake, but audiences were happy to buy into it, until now - when everything has come crashing down. There is a lesson to be learnt here. Don’t attempt to con the public, because when you get found out, it will backfire.
