I got the M2 a couple of weeks a go. Such a handy piece of kit. Clamping the 2nd Mic to the back of your Baseball hat or T-shirt etc would solve the line of sight issue handy enough. Great review.

Thanks for taking the time to comment! They are great. 👍🏼 I hope they are working on a mark ii version. If I clipped to the back side then I’d have the issue when facing the camera 😉
@KarlXByrneАй бұрын
@@codylander I meant one on the front and one on the back. You have two so using them to solve that problems seems logical. I did get the M2.
@codylanderАй бұрын
Sure that would work. However most people using this dual channel set up would be clipping one mic on one person and the other onto another person. When they lose line of sight drop out will happen. The fix is to upgrade from M2 to lark Max, DJI mic 1 or 2, rode pro, or any other mic with internal recording. I love the M2 for how small it is. I hope the mark ii version somehow has internal recording capabilities. That would be incredible!

is it mandatory to use the insta360 3.5 microphone adapter or anything similar should work?
@codylanderАй бұрын
Just depends on what camera you are using. For insta360 Ace pro i you need to use the 3.5-usb-c adapter. I hear good things about the Ace pro ii being able to connect through usb-c directly.

Nice review. When your skating, For me it's more realistic when you put the wind protection + noise reduction off.

I researched lots of good things about it and ordered one and arrived today, upon unboxing, while I pull out the magnet at the back of microphone, the metal plate sticked to the microphone been pulled out as well. I think this is a design flaw as I'd observed that the metal plate behind the microphone doesn't have anything to lock it in place but just some kind of hot glue. I lost confident right away because I don't know when will the glue fail again. The strong magnet power will eventually pull out the metal plate again. I'd returned it to Amazon. I like the sound quality but I don't want to take the risk of loosing it.

I’d guess this is a manufacturer defect. Did you get it replaced?

Is there any indicator if the noise cancellation is active? i do a lot of interview with lark m2 where noise cancellation is just not needed, coz I don't like how it sounds when it is on specially when there is not much noise in the background

Yes the light on the transceiver changes from blue to green or green to blue. It’s been a few weeks since I was testing it. But the light does change when it’s active.

how do I connect this mic to ace pro. Do I have to do anything on bluetooth?
@codylander7 ай бұрын
It’s not Bluetooth. You need the 3.5 microphone adapter for the Ace pro. You can find it in the accessories for Ace pro on their website.

I've read that you can only do mono with the mobile receiver versions. Is it possible to get stereo through the usb-c port on the camera receiver version? So I could get stereo via the usb-c port into my DJI Pocket 3 or phone?
@mshaftenberg2 ай бұрын
Stereo is only possible with the analog output (3.5mm jack) of the camera receiver. Unfortunately not with the USB-C output and not with the USB-C receiver.

The usb-c adapter works the same as the lightning adapter. Yes the insta360 acepro mic adapter has a usb-c port also so you can charge it at the same time.
@mokisan6 ай бұрын
@@codylander no I mean can you use the USB c adapter direcrly on the ace pro (without the insta360 mic adapter) and then charge the ace pro while using the mic? Something you can do with the USB c adapter if you use a smartphone.
@codylander6 ай бұрын
@@mokisan It doesn’t work by plugging in the M2 usbc adapter into the acepro. You’ll have to use the acepro 3.5 adapter.

@@mokisan you’re welcome. I hope that if Insta360 makes an AcePro ii that they will update it so it can receive usbc mics directly without the 3.5 adapter. But even as it is now. It’s still an incredibly small and capable camera that is able to receive audio. Powerful combination! I love mine.

Can i use three transmitters at a time what i mean i have multiple cameras. action 4, zv1 and mobile if i placed three cameras on different angles can i use those three transmitters at a time for three camerashots ? Please answer this

I don’t see why you couldn’t buy multiple of the same mic system and use them at the same time. I haven’t tested that scenario but on paper it should work just fine.

@@torresharbin You’ll have 2 ways to adjust your audio levels. 1st on the lark m2 receiver. Low middle and high. 2nd on your canon. If this level is set too high on your camera it doesn’t matter what wind protection you use. You can still clip the audio.
