I myself purchased the Hollyland Lark M2 on Prime Day for 110 bucks even though they've been out for a little while now. I had no idea they were this good, especially for the awesome price.

Very neat system. The ENC is appealing, even if as you say it can be dealt with in post. Still the chunky case is a little off putting even if it allows you to carry everything neatly. Personally I am waiting for the DJI Mic 2 release before making a decision. Thanks for your review 😊

I've been looking at several wireless mics in the last 2 weeks to replace my old Boya WM8 set, and I've ended up ordering the Lark Max (waiting on delivery for next week). Previously looking at the DJI Mic 2 and Rode Wireless Pro I was close buying one of those, but the Lark Max had charmed me. Look forward to trying it out, good review.

You mentioned the charging case, and I think that it's not a technological barrier. DJI's innovation truly lies in providing a better interactive experience and all-in-one storage.

I do think the Hollyland audio quality is slightly less clean than the Rode and DJI.

Great, useful video, thank you As a complete wireless novice, if I use this with my GoPro Hero 10, will it bake the audio into the video so I don't have to do anything with the audio post? Thanks very much and happy new year from the UK 🎉

*I swapped out my Rode Wireless GO and GO II for the Hollyland Lark M1 and My newest One the Hollyland Lark MAX. I love the Lark M1 as it was only $59 and it's practically invisible because of it's size of course Living in Alaska I had to order the charging case cause it won't ship here but that was only an Added $32 so all in all VERY inexpensive. So I'm looking forward to using this as I plan on putting the MAX on my FX30 and the M1 on my ZV-E10. Nice Review*

I believe the Wireless Pro is the newest product. Rode announced it August 21, 2023. One feature unique to the Rode is the secure connection for the Lavalier microphone. For many, that feature alone could be a game changer since it keeps the lav connection secure in the pocket or other area where the 3.5mm jack can come unplugged.

Thanks and maybe you can also answer this question: for a two-way interview do I need the duo specifically or can it also be done using the solo version? Ty

I know we disagree overall in the semantics of each model represented in this video, but I will take the HOLLYLAND over any of them! You will not regret purchasing this wireless mic set-up, especially for the quality it offers as well as the price! Nice job, guys! 👍🎤

1:28 It's ridiculous that the DJI Mic 2 only records mono audio when basically everything else can record stereo. Not a single Pocket 3 review mentioned that and I didn't find out until I tried to record binaural audio with it. If I would have known that, I would have saved that $150 and put it towards one of these. Especially since I was researching the Rode and DJI Mic 1 systems literally the day before the Pocket 3 embargo lifted.

The Mic 2 transmitter works identical to the Mic 1 transmitter. You can't record "stereo" with just one transmitter. The DJI mic receiver lets you record either in mono (i.e. the tracks from both mics are put together) or in "stereo", which means that one mic is on the left channel and the other on the right channel (in the options, you can select which mic should be on which channel). So you can't record "dimensional" binaural audio with the original DJI mic either if that's what you're looking for, it's always just double-mono (or single-mono with just one transmitter). And I don't think either of the other two systems can because each transmitter only has one microphone built in.

@@janoroh Thanks for the clarification. It still sucks though because my Zoom H1 (released over a decade ago) that I recently purchased on eBay for $10 supports stereo mics just fine. I figured these much newer, much more expensive "pro" level mics could do the same basic function just in a smaller package.

From your video, the Hollyland seemed very muffled, to my ears Rode was best, then DJI, I wouldn’t consider the Hollyland, looked cheap. Should have compared the DJI mic 2 with these Cheers

I agree, I love Hollyland but the sound was muffled, definitely not what I would deliver to a client. Rode sounds the best and has timecode, 32 bit float and almost $200 worth of Lavlier mics. And best of all its not made in China.

I believe it's pronounced /rō′dē/ in reference to the term "Roadie" which is slang for the crew that works for a traveling musical groups or stage productions; a stagehand or sound technician.
