I thought it was just me whos been crying even though Ive never met Truett before. Im not being dramatic or trying to hijack someone elses tragedy but for some reason his passing has hit me so hard. Perhaps its bc DC Talk was like family to me and they showed is their family life and I remember seeing little Truett as a toddler and hearing him on Tonys albums. I cant say I understand whats its like to lose a child bc im not a parent but in this case I just FEEL the pain and I feel the loss. Its just like dang is this real? Come back to life, dude. He was insanely talented just like his father. I saw the news headline when i opened my email and Ive been stunned ever since. My coworkers asked me what was wrong and I told them to pray for a Mckeehan family bc their son just died. I wish there was something we fans could do to help them but I guess all we have is prayer-which is actually a powerful thing. Let go and let God. PrettyTiaF same to literally everything you just said. I have never cried and grieved so much for someone I’ve never even met before. I could not stop crying and I kept breaking down all day when I found out. It’s truly heartbreaking to imagine what their whole family is going through right now. I just keep praying that God will bring peace to their minds and hearts and remind them that they will be reunited soon in Heaven. I also keep reminding myself that I serve a great God who does every single thing for a reason and that all we can do is trust him. We will be reunited with Truett in Heaven and that brings me great joy. Stay strong my fellow Truett fans, we will meet him in Heaven someday.

There are a lot of people commenting that God doesn't leave us alone. And technically speaking you are right. But, God is a perfect gentleman and if we don't allow him access to our hearts, minds & life he won't force himself on you. And a lot of times we feel alone or disconnected to Him b/c we have put up walls that we don't want to allow Him around. Also, the advisary will try to alienate us from feeling God's presence. I've had my rough times with the Lord, but listening to this song and reading his scriptures always makes me see clearly. Before this song came out, I was just a kid who didn't understand Jesus. I will also say religion should be used to help us know who God is and of his existence..when we have a relationship with him we realize we don't need a religious title we needed him..However the religion leads us to him if it is built upon his principles. :)

There is nothing wrong with religion if your religion follows the scriptural definition as mentioned in James 1:27- "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."
