JP is an addict. Just like any other addiction, it controls your life and your decisions. He will be a better man once he gets treatment. There is no reason he wouldn't be able to teach again somewhere if he takes the steps needed to overcome his demons. If you think otherwise, you may not be familiar with the hold addiction has on someone.

My feelings are a bit mixed. On one hand, I sympathise with his struggles; especially with the George and getting framed situation. Though on the other hand, he can't let it excuse the mistakes he's made. Sometimes you've got to face consequences for your actions.

Oh my OA I can’t believe Sally St. Claire canned her own Son! OA I wish she would’ve just suspended him or something while he got professional help I believe that John Paul is a good Person and the same with Mercedes cause I know he feels bad about what happened with the bus crash and I’m glad that Freya spoke to her Mother by asking her not to press charges against him. OA I just hope that when John Paul gets help from Honour or group therapy or something then maybe I think Sienna can take over for him, I mean I don’t think Olivia can do that considering she’s the one who’s been playing “Ben Willis” with those threatening notes and now she’ll be playing “Jill Roberts” by leaving a voicemail to him? John Paul is going through a drinking problem so he needs some professional help and he needs it badly. In time he can recover and he needs his son Matthew in his life so he can take of him once John Paul is fixed.
