James you’re a crap solicitor. Selling a property does not end an assured shorthold tenancy. Furthermore, if Fergus is sells to people who want to be owner-occupiers then it is highly likely the sales contract will require vacant possession and if the buyers are getting a mortgage vacant possession will definitely be a condition of the mortgage. Very basic housing law in England. Not to mention that the average time from offer to completion in England is 12 weeks. I do realise Hollyoaks is a soap but the way tenancies and property purchases are dealt with in soaps pisses me off.
