I can't understand why Brody still remains friends with Damon after what Buster did to him. Brody must really cherish his and Damon's friendship to overlook the fact that being friends with him is like having a daily reminder of the time he was victimized or he is a masochist.
@stephpowell76486 жыл бұрын
It's so much more than that though. Its human nature to want to belong. Brody had nothing but them, Buster tormented him yes but he also allowed him to have a family. Damon is the only brother he's known and Maggie, the only real mother, to lose that would be to lose everything. He needed Buster (or so be thought) and buster knew that. So the abuse may have wrecked him, but how much more so if he lost everything else too.
@lornmoulinie71036 жыл бұрын

Buster's actions, his behaviours, you have no idea how much this hits home, as I have a friend, or shall I say former friend, who treated me poorly, and used these sort of techniques to excuse himself from taking responsibility for his actions (nothing as bad as this, but it still hurts just the same). Luckily, he's now leaving town, and I don't have to see him again, and I am now free to move on to bigger and better from here. But thank you Hollyoaks for doing this storyline.

This episode effectively confirms Buster hasn't raped Brody or Ollie and has only touched them. I'm sorry but even though Brody was a child, 14 is way old enough to know. I'm 16 now and when I just turned 10 my teacher was doing a 100x than what Buster is doing to Brody. Also he was very tall so much more intimidating. But I knew what he was doing was sexual abuse and even though he manipulated me and physically hurt me, I put a stop to it myself and a few months after told my parents and the police because I knew it was wrong, extremely harmful and just disgusting , and it still harms me to this day. I think Brody must of been very unknowing and uneducated of this kind of thing to think it was normal especially at 14.
@noterin26816 жыл бұрын
Danny S I think it depends on the person, you’re obviously a very strong and courageous person to be able to do that. Where as Brody seemsa lot more vulnerable. If he confronted it after a few months like you did, he would probably be a bit more confident, but as he has had this horrible thing replaying in his mind for probably ten to twenty years I’m sure you can understand what that does to a person. Especially the fact that he has to see and live with the person who touched him and made him feel like a bad person on a daily basis and every time brody sees him all of those bad feelings come back.

The first thing you do after realizing Buster raped you is confront Buster and then let him blackmail you with Damon's friendship as you blubber in tears and let Buster get away with his crimes. Now Buster is prepared for Brody in case he reports him to the police.The first thing I would have done is to plot a plan with Ollie to get back at Buster and report him to the police.

I wish he'd been filming or recording this on his phone or somebody had witnessed it and all buster said to him. Don't let him win kid kick his ass with the truth and get justice for you and poor Ollie . One on his own may not be believed but two he's got no chance and of o e speaks others might come forward too also in Brodie's case his is gonna be classed as historic abuse and the police will still take that very seriously. And people like buster never cover up as well as they like to think they do so the police might actually be able to find evidence / other people who may of either raised concerns about him in the past or reported him over time. Gotta brake the silence one steps forward the rest will follow.

Why do we have to watch this? This is by far the most disturbing storyline in Hollyoaks for a long time, it's really difficult for an adult to watxh without wanting to punch the TV let alone a teenager, it's not daytime material.
@infinitesprings6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this does happen to teenagers and kids even younger. Maybe they should watch it. The reason for this storyline isn't just for ratings, there's a point here. To raise awareness about childhood sexual abuse and encourage those going through it to speak up. It's supposed to be uncomfortable and painful. That's how you know that they are doing it right. Showing reality. If you're not uncomfortable or affected by the message then something is definantly wrong. Sexual abuse of any kind is not a happy, good, lighthearted subject. If you are feeling those things when watching a show, then the show is treating the subject wrong and causing more harm than good.
