@@theyoungwolf9852 If he was deeply in love with Mercedes when he married her, and he has been carrying a torch for her since they were much younger, no one could replace Mercedes in Sylver`s heart for quite some time. So if she genuinely loves him, like she claims to, they will find back together again (or would have, had it been real life). Cause, as Sylver said, he knew who he married. So give him a few days, and he will be welcoming her back with open arms. Hopefully she will also stop her drug habit, and that way become a little better mother and wife, than she has been lately. Liberty is on the rebound after having broken up with Sami, so for her to get together with Sylver so shortly after he lived with Mercedes, and still is married to her, could be a recipe for disaster.

No wonder ratings are bad I really don't care about this storyline.
@neonblackbeast72435 жыл бұрын
That and also cos they’re kinda taking it too far with the really sensitive storylines like rape, pedophilism and racism
@Tvjunkieful125 жыл бұрын
@@neonblackbeast7243 I don`t think they are taking it too far. But I can agree too many darker themed storylines have come one after the other with the three you refer to, I will add some of the deaths too, making Hollyoaks less fun and entertaining, but more depressive instead. Even the Munchausen storyline, because it involves a character who usually are depicted more kind, generous and sincere, I fear have backfired seriously. I even think that to almost end the Buster, Ollie and Brody storyline with the trial, has felt a little superficial to many with close connections to either victims of male to male sexual abuse, or with professional connections to the field, since many of the victims often feel the real ordeal comes with everyone knowing, and the conflict of whether to tell new significant others, friends and more - or not. To me it looked like a solid majority hoped for a continuation of the topic through a friendship between Ollie and Brody, where they supported each other and dared to ask the questions bothering them in silence, and which they are scared to admit openly - despite the questions and uncertainty bothers them - out of fear of how others will react: Why me? Why like that? Could I have done something different to prevent it from happening? Is it a danger I could fall victim to this again? Am I damaged goods, and more and similar questions nagging them, until they find some kind of satisfactory answer. Instead both has moved on, almost without any difficulties or obstacles at all, to new girlfriends and well functioning relationships. Particularly the latter is a simplification and version of events I doubt many real male to male sexual abuse victims are able to identify with. Many of them experiencing intimacy problems afterwards, from not being able to interaction of a sexual nature at all, to not feeling comfortable being touched certain places, or certain ways, or addressed with certain words. Sometimes the aversion can even include certain geographical places or rooms in a house, or sexual positions, which forever have been polluted as a consequence of the abuse, but which is also can be tough to inform a new partner about - out of fear of that partner leaving them as a result. The more extreme cases are never able to fully free themselves of the impact of the abuse. From actively seducing and engaging men they feel shows an interest in them, because they that way at least will not suffer the trauma of being used against their will, or even becoming full time prostitutes - to the worse case scenarios: becoming abusers of some sort themselves. If the abuse had been going on for a long time before it was put an end to. and the abuse victim was young when it started, the abuse might be the only form of sex the victim is familiar with - making it extra difficult to be confronted with someone who may have a rich experience of more ordinary sexual relations later in life. Because there is notion of gay sex to be less masculine than straight sex, there is also a generally felt perception among many male to male sexual abuse victims that they are seen as second best if they let on about having been abused, and it might even prevent them from getting the girl/woman they want, and have the family life and future they desire. One abuse victim described it like this: "You never get over the abuse. It is not just to lift your foot high enough, land it on the other side, and let the other follow suit, and then the abuse will be a thing of the past. It is always with you. Like a heavy bottle inside a backpack which sometimes slams against your back when you walk. It is just, after a while you get so used to it being there, you don`t know what it would be like if it wasn`t - and you sort of don`t notice it anymore." That man, and I can say this because he is very open about it himself - and allow his story to be told to help other victims rid themselves of shame and doubts - is 43-44 now. He is married, has children, and is a business owner. But from the age of 13 to 16 was forced to engage in sexual acts with a man, who otherwise would have revealed a secret about him he, at the time, didn`t want anyone to know. As a consequence of this abuse, he after a while started to think of himself as bisexual - and extended his male to male sexual interaction to other males after the abuse situation had been stopped, because he found certain of the sexual acts he engaged in pleasurable. Later he has changed his view, and now describes himself as a heterosexual man who enjoys certain types of gay sex. Since he is not himself sexually attracted to men - but have enjoyed certain types of male to male sexual interaction. I spoke to this man after the footballer abuse storyline had finished on Hollyoaks - a storyline I mostly was very impressed with, I have to admit. But one thing this man said made me stop and think. Cause he said the more focus was placed on the abuser, the worse the situation for the victim. This because both the victim than just became a piece of a picture, and a type - rather than an individual. But also because the more bad things were said about the abuser, the more stupid and pathetic the victim perceived himself - and the harder it became to face the world, and people`s questions and prejudices. The fact people got to know so much about the abuser, meant they also felt they knew everything there was to know about the abuse and how the victim would feel. And this is something I have heard before, that victims feel they have to react and convey certain types of emotions and statements to live up to the victim role, so to speak, Therefore it is important in cases like this to let the victim define his own reality, and what the abuse was and how it made him feel - or not feel. We help victims by listening to them, and try to understand them and their point/s of view - and by treating them as a anybody else when they don`t themselves address the abuse, or any feelings or thoughts connected to it. And looking back, especially to the reactions in the comments, there were more hate towards Buster, than sympathy for Ollie and Brody, most times. So maybe the storyline could have been shaped a little different, so the importance of letting the victim define the abuse - and not the rest of the world - had been the main focus? Cause looking back, with Luke hitting Scott, Scott dismissing Ollie and more, there was more hate and disgust included in the the storyline, than a chance to hear things from Brody and Ollie`s point of view, with their words. Too much was perhaps left to people`s imagination, both in regard to the type and extent of the abuse, but also how it happened? Creating both confusion and misconceptions about what was done to who, and where, when and how - and leaving such a wide range for speculations, viewers imaginations might have jumped to exaggerated conclusions - or not have realized the extent of the abuse fully. Or people who themselves had fallen victim to abuse assumed Ollie and Brody`s story to be identical to theirs? That was a weakness with that storyline, which could have been corrected, if only the storyline had continued as a friendship and mutual support group of Ollie and Brody, who both knew Buster and how it felt to fall victim to sexual abuse by him. Which also would have honored the principle of letting the victim define the abuse - and not be forced to live up to a standard for how victims should feel, think and behave after having been abused.

I actually can't understand these women in USA and UK. Comparing to the problems and hardships and difficulties and stress and agony and harassment and discrimination women in our countries go thru.......in South Asia, in Africa, in Muslim regions,...... What these women like mercedes and Donna Marie and Sienna and etc etc etc are going through is minus zero. Yet they are mentally ill. On drugs. They need drugs to console them. Then what role do their families play..why is having a child is not enough for mothers there. Our moms and dads here...... especially mothers and grandmothers sacrifice so much for their kids and stay in broken, stressful, cruel marriages till the end for the sake of their children. These people in USA and UK only want men and women to sleep with for lustful desire and then dress up and party. Disgusting. Uncivilised people who called us uncivilised
