I’d smarten up the edges around the top of the cutout with the grinder. Otherwise you did a fine job cutting those holes! You can glue down your stainless to the plywood underlay with some sikaflex. Then leave some heavy things on the counter for 24 hours. Then when you mount the sink put a bead of silicone around the underside of the flange on the sink before you drop it in place. You can fill that little over cut with silicone so it won’t let water seep under the counter. Use proper good quality clear silicone. You can even put the sink in temporarily and use masking tape to make an outline of the sink. Then when you put the sink down bedded on the silicone and secure it you can pull the tape for nice clean lines. Like taping before you paint. Clean the stainless surfaces that are receiving sikaflex or silicone with minimal spirit or rubbing alcohol prior to applying so it adheres proper.

@paulayala48164 жыл бұрын
Your right Jo, the overhang on Holly is a nice design element on a rainy or hot sunny day, I could see the area being popular with your customers. Is it just me or does that spider look like a Black Widow? OMG if I had a dollar for everytime I went looking for a Sharpie, my wife's a teacher and buys them by the bucket, but when we need one we can never find one. Great job Vic on cutting the stainless, I could understand your apprehension.

Awesome - love how you show the not so easy bits too. It doesn't look like its going to be an issue but, where you have that over cut in the stainless top you could just stick another piece of metal underneath and fill it with whatever sealant you are going to use. Also wanted to ask, do you have a route plan for when you start moving? Big thumbs up.
@HollyTheCafeBoat4 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, no plan yet! We'll probably start off around here in the East Midlands then head north...or south..we haven't thought too much about that yet :-D
@Deb_Downes4 жыл бұрын
Stainless steel is so difficult to work with, and you’ve done a great job! I realise these videos might be running behind time. Just make sure you do a good run of silicon in that area where you slightly over cut the sink cutout. This will make sure that water doesn’t get into the plywood underneath. Can’t wait to see Cafe Holly open, cheers Deb :)

Great Vlog this week, some proper engineering going on. Vic, you've probably finished tapping holes now, but if you have to do any more I thoroughly recommend a ratcheting tap handle, I find it makes things a lot easier. Also it takes a real man to play grinding disc roulette! I'm not going to tell you to put the guard back on as that would be hypocritical. P.S. Your Sharpies are probably in one of the kitchen drawers. (Do I win one if I'm right?) Keep up the good work.

Grammatically speaking, it’s “would have,” not “would of.” People think that “would’ve” sounds like the latter, but actually the apostrophe is standing in for the “ha.” Really, though, I’m a lot more bothered by folks who stand there not helping, but having the temerity to criticize the methods of the one actually doing the work, than I am by grammatical ignorance.
