There are many regular Americans who work in this industry who have been shut out of work. Everyone in “Hollywood” isn’t an above the liner- actors or directors or producers. I know that you are thinking of the A Actors when you make the comment of being grossly overpaid. But think of any movie or tv show - there are many more actors involved than the one A-lister, and they are not making the big bucks. They also don't get benefits like regular companies. Regular actors (especially middle age and up) feel really lucky to be on serial shows to do the craft they love and get benefits. But there are many other actors who go from show to show to make their living. Think of all the ones who portray criminals, cops, restaurant workers, etc. There struggle is real. So if their contracts don't reflect higher wages and better hours etc, they do hurt.

A movie or show or series that does well for the execs and investors should pay out a proportional amount to the people actually doing the work.
