After Phil Hartman was shot in 1998, Sylvester Stallone, who was a friend of his made this statement. "They should go house to house and collect all the guns." This was before he made Rambo 4 or Rambo 5 or The Expendables. I lost all respect for him when I heard this a year or so ago. First Blood was one of my top 3 favorites. Couldn't watch it for a very long time. I was at a friend's house and it happened to be on. Matt Damon as well should be on this list. He stated, "Guns freak me out.". So does his acting. Hypocrites! Spoons don't make people fat. Pencils or pens don't make mistakes. People have caused a lot of deaths in cars. They prosecute those responsible but are not trying to outlaw cars. Police only are around after a crime. Common people need to be able to protect themselves and their loved ones.

What is an actor and what does their profession involve? They are a person who has the ability to convince others they are somebody or something they are not, and their profession consists of doing just that. That does not qualify them to possess more wisdom than others nor does it make their opinion hold more weight than the opinion of any other. The problem is that so many simple minded people elevate actors and professional athletes to god like status and worship them for no reason. Quite frankly the person who can figure out what is wrong with your air conditioner and fix it in 100+ degree heat deserves more worship than an actor. Or the person at Cosco you never see that is unloading all of the stuff you buy from the truck that is backed up to the loading dock. What about the folks who paint the lines on the road or the people that haul away your stinking garbage. My life without the latter would be rather unpleasant but would be unchanged if there were no actors anymore.
